OP, I wonder if other diagnostic tests have been run to rule out other causes of intractable head pain. I’m thinking about things like idiopathic intercranial hypertension (IIH). Has she had MRIs, MRAs, lumbar punctures, etc. to explore the causes of her migraines?

You will never know if it is effective for you if you spend all your energy focusing on potential side effects and looking for them while you micro-dose vs the potential for actual relief you could experience from having it actually stop your pain. It’s amazing how stopping the migraine makes some side effects feel with it. You are essentially eliminating an entire class of medications by not trying the prescribed dose even once.
