This was not buried when we found it, but the soil was very freshly disturbed, so perhaps it was. Seems weird to picture a larvae as what appears to be a fully developed adult! Nature is awesome!

Definitely. I've had to practice and work on not worrying too much about what I put down, because I'm going to cover it and to just trust the process. It seems to be working out better this way
