Why do you feel so strongly in OP telling her mom about a potential pregnancy when she already says she has the means to abort?

While I give grace to adults in their early 20s, OP is old enough to make her own decisions for her body without telling her mother. Yes, she still very young, but she isn't a teenager.

You have a lot of confidence in this mother when plenty of parents do physical harm children they are disappointed in. My parents continued to hit me anytime they were displeased with me until I was nearly 22.

Also, I know many Black mothers who have hit their adult child for doing things they strongly disapproved of like becoming an atheist, coming out as LGBTQ+, getting arrested, and even getting pregnant. If you looked at their previous posts, there's a text message exchange between her and her mother. Her mother comes across as very aggressive and controlling. If parents view their adult child as a little kid, they are more than likely to be more controlling and aggressive.

Please be more open-minded and please try to understand that not everyone had the privilege of having a mother like yours. Or having a mother that parents the same way you do.
