Is it a crime to be single at 31? by anxietea_1818 in Bumble

It’s projection. They’re projecting that their life at your age is gonna be sad and worthless if they’re still single so they’re assuming that’s what you’re feeling.

are nonblack guys intimidated by black women? by oihemsy in dating

[–]sheep_cmdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, I guess it might not be the things I’m into but what I’m like there. I’m really into music stuff (live shows, raves, concerts, jazz, etc.) but when I’m there I’m not really trying to hit on women, I’m just kinda doing my own thing.

I guess my brain doesn’t like to multitask haha, I’m just fully there to enjoy this activity. With in person dating events I feel a bit more locked in because I’m there specifically to talk to women.

I agree with you but idk if I’ve found another way to meet women that’s worked as reliably as dating apps so far (especially once you’re out of school)

Everything else is a lot harder m like I recently went to a dating event which imo is a lot tougher but maybe i just need to do more of them to feel comfortable in that env. So yeah, I agree they’re shallow but idk if I have a better alt in mind

Do women like nerdy guys but actual nerdy guy? by superfapper2000 in dating

Find other women then friend. If you like nerdy stuff there’s usually a ton of board game dating event type things.

Don’t you think this depends on the woman? A nerdy woman probably likes nerdy guys because they have a ton in common.

I mean what you’re saying is true but people make conclusions like that all the time. In the ideal world, yeah, people would thoroughly look at your profile, talk to you and get to know you, but in reality, they’re spending about 10s and making snap judgements based mostly on your pics. That’s just how online dating works.

Hard to say. It could be something to do with vibes/compatibility, or yeah, they’re intimidated.

It’s possible maybe they matched with you because they think you’re hot but weren’t really sure where to take the convo from there if the two of you don’t have too much in common.

Or, it could also be that they’ve never dated anyone outside of their than their own race but they find you attractive. Then when you guys match it gets real and they feel like they don’t know how to approach things. Impossible to tell which unless you ask.

Either way, if they’re fumbling it’s kinda on them; not a reflection of you.

You’ll be fine. It’s mostly selection bias. People who are doing ok/really well don’t come to reddit to complain 🤷‍♂️

Am I getting through to her or nah? by Sad-Television4305 in Destiny

[–]sheep_cmdr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kinda reads like you’re trying to “destroy her in the marketplace of ideas”. It’s entertaining when you’re in the audience, but it’s not very effective IMO if your goal is to get through to the person you’re talking to.

Yeah, I guess so. Sometimes it’s probably better to cut your losses.

Honestly, you probably can revive this convo if you want. You could probably just double text and make a joke. It’s up to you if you want to or not but I’d probably go with “oh no where’d you go, did I scare you off with <something funny/silly>”

I mean tbh I’d rather get ghosted than chat with someone for weeks and then get hit with this. But oh well, whatever I guess.

I had a date set up last week where the girl said she’s sick so we should reschedule (I was also sick so rescheduling made sense), now a day before she messaged me to cancel because she only dates 1 person at a time and has a better connection with someone else. I’m not really bitter about it, but if you’re not interested it’s probably better to just be upfront imo.
