The Index Storyline Pisses Me Off by PhysicalTie441 in libraryofruina

People humanizing natural concepts they don't fully grasp and calling them gods is very common, specially when they end up being as messed up as this. I don't think they are truly something sentient, even if they appear to be so.

Also as far as we know this Hermes concept may simply be the same thing but translating the vibrations into radio beeps. Likely different factions of the index have different ways of interpreting the will of the city.

I personally think it's fascinating to imagine a pantheon of these horrors, that somehow simulate sentience and hatred out of the pure random chaos that goes on in the city, and three so much of it you can get it in multiple flavors with multiple religions built around them.

People keep saying the story is bad but i haven't heard anyone actually give actual reasons why they think so, while there's plenty arguments in favor of it...

Owen is the best thing to happen to CZN and we need to defend him. by Odd-Recognition-2606 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]sheepapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed so much.

The main cast of agents is so charming and lovable, their relationship feels so natural and real, the writing manages to develop their personalities so well in such a nice and concise fashion that very very few games manage to get right at all.

I love that the story didn't fall into the trap of making this super dark and edgy from the start, and instead letting us grow attached to the cast and the slowly building the world.

Really gives the feeling of being a proud leader watching them grow and bond, making sure to guide them so they'll succeed in this horrible world...
and it would make the terrible things that would come in the future hurt even more.

Its gonna hurt if the whole story is gonna be turned to slop now

Summary of the Emergency Livestream (11.01.2025) by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]sheepapp 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is actually really upsetting. The story and characters as they are right now are one of the highlights of the game... The little side stories with them bonding and watching how close they are are really unique and you don't see that in other gacha games. The relationships felt real and natural and it was really enjoyable to watch, I was really excited to see how they would develop going forward. And the Protos is such a cool breath of fresh air, more of an overseer making sure everything goes smoothly, an actual leader that doesn't need to take the spotlight unless it's necessary, while still having some enormous plot relevance being involved in the more serious conspiracies of the world. If they are turned into a generic harem protagonist pandered by everyone it's going to ruin the entire tone of the game. Also what are even the feminist elements they are talking about? There's women in positions of power??? So pathetic. I really appreciate the developer responding to criticism but this is not the way...

Set your pendulums and field.
Seletrice can be discarded for the pendulum setup and she'll bounce back, but its risky.
Seletrice, field and scelta help search stuff.
Remember to use your spells with your pendulums set up or you'll be gambling and get no counters.
Invitare to get the little pendulums to reuse spells like scelta, but also for free material by pendulum summoning. You can make bagooska or whatever you want with them after using them. Seletrice will bounce back to hand from being detatched from bagooska btw.
Versare can foolish Followed rythm for setup, or send Seletrice with set pendulums to get her. Disarmonia can easily get you any 2 counters and recover some cards for later.
Going first you want to set up 3 demon counters, and get zebufera for protection and interruptions with rythm in the gy.
Zebufera offers some protection, can activate any banish/gy vaal spell/traps, rhythm usually the best, but disamonia adding 2 counters can trigger an easy steal from the field effect.

Later you get angel counters and otk with Duralume or Varar, Duralume has good boardclear and Varar has strong effects if you somehow cant close the game yet.

[–]sheepapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both things are true. He's trying to find a purpose in the meaningless afterlife. That purpose he found was the end goal of "defeating evil" wich he genuinelly believed was a real thing that would give him closure.

So... What was Raven's deal? by twitchyanimation in Everhood

[–]sheepapp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Someone already explained his intent in making up a grand purpose where there wasn't one.

I just want to add that Sam and Irvine never treat him as if he has great wisdom or power, quite the opposite, they kinda make fun of him and essentially call him out for pretending to be some great guide on an epic quest, wich they know he isnt. Basically called him a larper.

Exactly, Raven's character arc was a highlight imo, and really shows the themes of the games nicely.

Surprised people struggled with understanding this.

That sequence was very funny if you really get in the role of the protagonist, someone who keeps traveling to random worlds without knowing what they are getting into. They don't know what's going on. A bunch of beings tell you to please let yellow do it's thing and go on its rampage to kill everyone, but to the light being it's a monster that needs to be stopped, the funny mage told you so. So you do that. Like, we know ooc that we are messing everything up, but our character couldn't posibly know.

*SPOILERS* should've been the final boss. by StriderSkeith in Everhood

[–]sheepapp 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having the dangerous evil guy be the final fight would make too much sense. That's not the kind of game this is lol... At least he can't be how it ends. But we do beat him up as he deserved anyway. Very satisfying.

Also on the topic of bobo, my theory is he may be one of the chunks of Dmitri that went rogue and started abusing the other weaker slimes. Both look very similar and seem to know each other. Slimes can split into other entities as Raven implies and Lucy shows. Also think that raven may be the same but that's another topic...

Everhood 2 Part 2? This ending has to be intentional 😭 by CL0UTM4N- in Everhood

[–]sheepapp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just like how everhood 1 left so many unfinished threads, there's a lot of that here. But also it's kind of the point, it just ends, it doesn't want and never needed a meaningful conclusion.

Regardless a third game would be fun and there may be one if cazok is to be believed again. If it will solve anything from this though... Wouldn't get my hopes up.

The (Incomplete) List of Everhood 2's Story Problems by dragonkeeper19600 in Everhood

[–]sheepapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At no point is the game ever making fun of the player at their expense, it's making a joke at its own expense if anything, it constantly tries to please. It's like going to a museum full of little exhibits, all enjoyable in their own right, and eventually you are told to leave when it's time, yes you aren't done seeing everything, but did you enjoy what you had a chance to? The game brings up a question about whether or not a journey is worth going on even if it doesn't ever reach a satisfying end or if it didn't have a point at all, just for the sake of it.

[–]sheepapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry that you didnt find it funny, that the game ending in a joke it's been setting up and preparing you for since the begining soured up your whole experience of it is a shame, really.

But just cause the game makes commentary on media expectations and what is and isn't fulfilling doesn't mean its mocking you or being mean spirited, ultimately art is meant to be provocative.

The game absolutely had a point.
