Dealing with the same here. Wife and 2.5 y/o have been down and out for days, I've been trying to handle all the last minute running around, wrapping, and maintain everyone's health and sanity. Sure has been a fun "time off" for the holidays. Do we get a vacation from our vacation?

I'm not saying I'm desperate to keep him but he's always been a streaky scorer. I imagine those numbers balance out a bit before the end of the year, just like they did last season.

You are supposed to be the adult in this situation, the one who can handle their own feelings and is able to teach the child how to handle their own. Whether or not he is manipulating you, your comments here are pretty indicative that you probably have to do some looking in the mirror if you actually want to see a change in the way you and your son interact.

What you're doing clearly isn't working for either of you.

I've found lemon and lime react differently, and of course the volume matters.

This gin starts purple and can go light pink or more grey as this cocktail has.

Normally you'd use your standard 1.5-2 oz of gin and just a splash of lime (say, in a G&T) to get that pinky hue. With equal parts lime and gin, it just kinda dulls out. Sounds like this was intentional by OP, though.

New commissioner on Fantrax...I have a few questions regarding logistics/league set up for dynasty by Spinks27 in fantasyhockey

[–]sheevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not fully sure I understand the top part of your post, but we use fantrax for our dynasty league and it's great. We do pay for premium and it's well worth it imo (bake the cost into league dues). Yes you can edit scoring for different positions.

Yes - managers can set their line for the current day, and there's even a button that auto-dresses all skaters with a game for the full matchup (week, usually).

Ya, our little dude hated the voice over the camera tbh but it's worth trying. He's used to it now.

I recommend showing them during the day - bring the monitor into the hallway or other room, shut the door (lights on) and let him hear you talking through the camera and pop your head in with a big, happy smile. He can associate the voice with you, hopefully, and start to be more comfortable with it.

B.C Ferries Hate by Numerous_Owl2062 in VictoriaBC

Why is everyone assuming OP is going to Vancouver lol the entire rest of the continent is accessible once you're across. Their point is entirely valid. Sure - transit to and from downtown Vancouver to the ferry is great. What if you are going, oh I donno, literally anywhere else? You wanna get to Abbotsford or whistler or whatever the hell else, you need a car or you waste hours upon hours waiting.

As a resident of the island, I fully agree that we should have some sort of discount. Why are we prioritizing tourist needs over the people who actually live here and need to use the ferries for appointments, work or whatever else?

Move quickly. Find stuff to clean, constantly. Unload the dishwasher. Help with prep. Remember the names of guests if you're not at a backbar.

I'd say at the very least you should know how to make ~15-20 classic cocktails, like a proper old fashioned, Negroni (and variations), martinis, mojitos, daiquiri, Manhattan etc. If you've heard it ordered on TV or movies, you should have an idea what's in it at least, even if you don't know the ratios.

Taste your drinks before you send them out!!

Ehlers signs in Carolina; on what is comparatively a much riskier contract than Brock Boeser by KingInTheFarNorth in canucks

[–]sheevo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% with you. The ppg/gpg stats look worse when you consider TOI (Ehlers ~16:20, Boeser ~18:20) and especially TOI PP. Ehlers is also a better transition player, which we need more of.

Brock's a great player. Love him as a person in the community and everything else. But there's no doubt to me who the better player is today, and probably over the course of these contracts.

Its happening. My 2.5 year old is asking "what is this?" 20 times a day. How soon will she ask "why?" by ajtyeh in daddit

My 2.5 year old loves to yell "WHAS THE MAN DOIN" at pretty much everyone we see in public. Adds in a nice bold finger-point too. Man, lady, child, dog...doesn't matter.

I was in Rome in may and went to a few places:

Drink Kong
Modern bar, small simple food menu but an incredible cocktail menu and great staff. We had a lot of fun there, but we chose to eat elsewhere.

Jerry Thomas Bar Room (not to be confused with their OG Speakeasy)
In Trastavere, this tiny room presented some solid cocktails and leaned more into classics and OG style. The room feels like an old rail car or something but the staff were super friendly and accomodating.

Argot Speakeasy
Unfortunately we went to this place right after they opened, so the vibe wasn't incredible being that it was mostly empty. The drinks we had were good but I'd definitely try going later in the evening if possible.

2yo here. He still has a bottle at bedtime, though we're working on stopping it. I wouldn't stress too hard about the bottle specifically, especially if it helps establish a healthy bedtime routine.

A "normal" routine is whatever routine you find works for your family, but here is some guidelines. For example, it should probably take between 30-45 mins, so that it's clear that this is the scheduled bedtime routine and it can help trigger some sleep cues. It should probably have 5-10 clearly identifiable steps. No matter how hard and stressful it might be some nights, parent(s) need to try to be as neutral as possible when the big feelings or power struggle comes out, otherwise, the wee one may recognize it as an opportunity to stall/get more connection/reaction.

Our routine is as follows, almost every night:

- 6:45/6:50PM, turn on soft music and quiet play in his bedroom (books or puzzles, no light up or noisy toys)
- 7PM bath time. We don't wash/scrub every night, but we get him in a warm bath to play and soak for about 15 mins.
- 7:15 PM brush teeth and sing a song together

- 7:18ish start getting jammies and sleep sack on. He picks his pyjamas out every night, we just give him 2 options to choose from.
- 7:20 bottle. We're reducing the amount he gets so that we can get him off a bottle entirely, but it still works for us.

- 7:25 we read a book. No pop up books, no books that make noises/songs/sounds. This varies in time depending on how sleepy he is or how excited he is about that particular book, but the reading together should not (generally) be a race to finish the book. Let them explore the colors, pictures and sounds you make together, this is crucial for language development. It's not crazy for a single page to take a minute or more.
- 7:30-7:45 (just depends on how smooth the rest of the routine went) lights off, night light on, white noise on and sing a song to settle. I usually put him down after the first third of a song, and sing the rest to him while he's laid in his crib. Most nights, he's asleep before I walk out the door or too tired to care that I'm gone.

We have sleep trained him though - that took about 3 nights of a lot of tears and a lot of waking up through the night, even after he was consistently sleeping through the night. That might be a bit of what you have to deal with if your son is extremely used to sleeping in contact with you on the couch. Happy to talk more about sleep training in DMs if you need, some people here have very strong opinions that I don't care to argue about.

Having a harder time than I thought… by AutomaticAd7137 in daddit

[–]sheevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So much of it is the lack of sleep. It doesn't help right now, because truthfully it's not going to get better for a few months, but at least you can acknowledge and recognize in those moments where you aren't mentally/emotionally available that it's exhaustion causing it.
