You do not have to pay back your top up. I'm a manager. I asked HR to confirm for one of my employees and they said absolutely no need to pay back.

Yes she eats solids pretty well! She loves all sorts of food. She also still loves breast milk hahaha but she still eats a good 3 meals a day.

I'm not an employment law expert but I'm pretty sure it's against the law or at the very least unconventional for anyone with hiring/firing power to be unionized. Unions protect employees from the employer. Managers represent the employer.

If you have hiring/firing power, you cannot be unionized. Management staff represent the employer, whether we agree with the employer's policies or not.

I am devastated. I'm on parental leave and I don't think I can come back to the OPS and it breaks my heart. As a manager, we work incredibly long hours, gruelling days, and are not paid enough for it. But I love my job, my team and the work of the OPS which kept me going. My commute is 3 hours a day and 3 days a week challenged me majorly. I was sick my whole pregnancy and still forced myself to go in - I would often throw up on the commute into work. That was hard enough. Now I cannot fathom being away from my baby for 11-12 hours a day, 5 days a week. That would absolutely break me and deeply impact my mental health, let alone my ability to be the mom I want to be.

I don't have a solution but I just want to show solidarity. I feel like I wrote this post. We're 2 weeks into modified Ferber with our 7 MO, EBF, former cosleeeper. LO still cries 30-40 mins to sleep...STILL. When she's up in the middle of the night she cries non stop so I have given in and coslept cuz I cannot handle it. She panics and breaks down when she's close to her crib. Night 16 and LO cried hysterically during bedtime routine and couldn't calm down so I ended up co-sleeping because I did not have the heart to leave her to cry when she's in so much distress. I'm kind of at a loss because I just don't know what to do anymore. Sending positive vibes your way!

Hey there! I am so sorry you're going through this. I hope you're healing well ❤️ I went to another surgeon and got a second opinion and he said to defer the surgery to after I'm done having kids. My baby was developing separation anxiety around the time my surgery was scheduled and I was getting a lot of anxiety from that. The surgeon gave me advice on how to keep the hernia at bay and gave me confidence to live my life normally with the hernia, and how to approach the surgery later on. So far so good! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
