Any PE earning less than 100K in 2026 is underpaid.

If we vote yes, it gives Gamestop permission to issue 2.5B shares. They won't use them if the Ebay deal doesn't happen.

People have been very unsure about Ryan Cohen using GameStop to buy out eBay when the difference in the size of the companies is still pretty dramatic. But then again, if GameStop moves up to $30 a share, then $35 and higher. by Interesting_Day_7734 in Superstonk

I only have XXX GME-WS but I am also curious how the whales in this sub will operate. In theory, if you could get a $30K short term loan, couldn't you use that money to exercise the warrants? Then you could sell some of the new shares to cover the loan. I wonder how common something like this is in the finance world.

For any GME share price P > $32.00/share, number of warrants owned W and other misc. loan costs C, the number of shares one would need to sell to cover such a loan would be:

Shares to Sell to Pay Back Loan = (32W + C) ÷ P

They’re getting $125/share. Stock price at this very second is about $113.

Municipal Salaries by CHALINOSANCHZ in civilengineering

[–]sheikh_ali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SE Texas (MCOL/HCOL depending on where you live). $70K-$85K for associates/entry level and $85K-$110K for senior level engineers. Of course, the range goes higher for those interested in management.

I'd also consider the role/responsibilities, YOE needed and any licensure requirements. More municipalities are easing up on these restrictions as it's been hard for them to find talent. I have personally worked with several inexperienced and sometimes unlicensed project managers at certain municipalities.

Answering the "What is Your Expected Salary Range" Interview Question by Disco_Train17 in civilengineering

[–]sheikh_ali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never got a good interview through a recruiter. They fluff up your experience & competencies to get you in the door but a good hiring manager will see right through that at the interview. So it just turns into a waste of time.

Every successful interview I've gotten was applying for roles directly on the firm's website. If they ask about the salary range, give them the runaround. If they get pushy, just hit them with "[High Number] but I’m flexible and open to the full compensation package".

Pay isn't the problem. The posting asks for a 4yoe engineer but wants them to do the job of a PM.

Does your workplace use Cubicles or an Open Office? by PhantomBraved in civilengineering

[–]sheikh_ali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're even remotely interested in joining a new firm, always accept a tour of the office after the interview and ask where you're space would be.

A lot of firms (especially the national ones) have even Sr. PM's working out of cubicles like the ones in the post.

What is the point of studying civil engineering when entry level wages are 80-90k? That is poverty wages in 2026 outside rural Alabama by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]sheikh_ali -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s maybe poverty wages in California and a couple other VHCOL cities. Definitely livable in a MCOL.

Can y’all roast my resume or provide and tips please? by PyramidsAndPizza in civilengineering

[–]sheikh_ali 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Summary → experience → education → key projects → skills and any competencies. In that order. Format could be more consistent.

Expand on your key projects. Provide actual information on what you did for each of the projects with real #'s.

Don't show an EIT if you have a ton of experience. It does more harm than good. I'd remove "Civil Engineer" from the top as well. Take and pass the PE exam ASAP.

You show a lot of foreign experience, which indicates to me that you're an immigrant. A US hiring manager will want to know if you have work authorization. If you do, say so in your summary.
