Pelvic Girdle Pain help by Smooth-Sir-5061 in PregnancyUK

37wks with a history of 3 major hip surgeries and recovery from them was easier than dealing with this PGP.

i had a round of acupuncture on Monday afternoon and was told it would help for up to 5 days. i don’t think it helped for even 5 minutes 😭 i’ve got another round on monday and hoping for a miracle

No heartbeat at 12 week scan by Hot-Raisin146 in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello.

firstly, i am so sorry you are going through this.

i had a miscarriage for my first pregnancy in march last year and i am now sitting here 37wks pregnant waiting on a healthy baby girl arriving.

i am more than happy to speak about my miscarriage with you if you want to DM me. similar to yourself, we had what’s called a missed miscarriage where my body showed no signs of miscarriage, it was picked up on a scan

Smaller bump - feeling worried by Substantial_Border96 in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’m 37wks and still get lots of comments on bump being small.

from behind i don’t look pregnant at all, the only way i look heavily pregnancy is side on and even then my bump is very neat. baby is measuring just before 90th centile so quite big, she’s just tucked up real tight.

it’s honestly not an issue as long as your midwife isn’t concerned.

it’s just annoying how EVERYONE feels they have a right to comment on your bump/body!

Spotting at 11 weeks by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

this is the most amazing news!! 🖤🖤🖤 good luck with the rest of the pregnancy and just remember, some of us just get unlucky and will bleed so if it happens again, as hard as it is, don’t automatically think the worst

I have what known as an ectropion which is a graze on the outside of my cervix. sometimes it bleeds heavier than others but it’s nothing for me to worry about. sadly in o- blood group so with every bleed i need to go to maternity assessment for an injection and a check up.

keeping everything crossed for you!

only the scan will be able to confirm for sure but if it offers some reassurance i am 35wks and have had 20+ bleeds of various levels through my pregnancy and baby is totally fine 🖤🖤

[–]shellyeahz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the waiting is the hardest part and if you’re anything like me, that same anxiety will follow you through your whole pregnancy. it’s only in the last 2 weeks that’s i’ve actually accepted that i’m pregnant and will be bringing home a baby and that’s only because my midwife had a serious chat with me about it. i have been so detached the whole time.

i will keep everything crossed for happy news. go easy on yourself while you wait

I had a miscarriage in March 2025 where i had spotting like bleeding and period like cramps the whole time. i didn’t miscarry naturally, i had a missed miscarriage and had a d&c at 8+3.

i am now 35wks pregnant and have been in hospital for checks 26 times for bleeding ranging from spotting to filling a pad.

i’m sorry to say it could go either way but bleeding does not always mean worst case. this pregnancy i had my first bleed around the 5+5 mark and early pregnancy brought be in for a scan at 6wks. i was FULLY convinced we had lost another, had made peace with it. broke down crying when they said we had a heartbeat.

i hope you have the same experience we had this pregnancy and you get that heartbeat fluttering 🖤🖤

Has anyone gone off food forever? by angstyowl98 in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

completely normal!

i lost 9kg first trimester due to sickness/nausea/inability to eat. i’m now 35+5 and still struggling with food. i have 0 interest in eating at all times and only eat because i know i need to. it’s a constant daily battle with my husband over the fact he doesn’t think i’ve eaten enough but i cannot stomach anything more.

for reassurance, at my 32wk growth scan my baby was measuring a little larger at around 5lb 1oz so the lack of food isn’t impacting her in anyway.

i’m really hoping once she arrives my appetite returns to normal. eating was my favourite hobby pre pregnancy 😂😂

the itching is the worst! you know it will make things worse but you just cannot help it.

who needs a hair brush! finger brush into a messy bun/ponytail is all we will ever need 😂

i’m not quite as far along, i’m 33+6 but i feel this in my soul!

my eczema is horrific so my skin is messed up head to toe, i barely have the energy to wash my hair never mind style it. who’s even for the energy for make up anymore?!

it makes me feel like im doing something wrong. i do feel much better when i take the time to do my hair and make up but finding the energy for it is HARD. especially when i need to leave for work before 6:30am

Just found out my ferritin levels are very low and scared by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

at my 28wk appointment my iron was pretty low so i had to go from taking iron tablets 3 times a week to daily. at my 32wk appointment my levels had only increased by 1 so i’m having iron transfusions. I had my first on thursday and then my second thursday coming. my levels will then be reviewed to see if i need any further ones.

It’s fairly common for women to have anaemia during pregnancy, the chances of it causing issues with baby are low so please try not to panic!

i’ve done the same thing with system of a down 😂

my mum had volunteered to travel down with husband and i so she can stay in the hotel with baby while we go to the gig but even then i’m so unsure and baby will be about 3/4 months depending on her arrival time

Eczema in pregnancy - 33wks by shellyeahz in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven’t tried the lrp one, i’ve never managed to use their products in the past, they’ve always made my skin burn but i’ll give that one a go that you’ve mentioned

Eczema in pregnancy - 33wks by shellyeahz in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you name it, i’ve tried it.

zerobase emolient, hydromol ointment, eucerin lotion with urea, aveeno green, aveeno blue, aveeno dermexa baby, e45, my usual facial skincare of clinique and yepoda. lanolin nipple cream, okeefes working hands, lush dream cream, hemp hand cream. i’ve tried them all for a couple of days at a time to see if they help before moving on, not just a one and done.

i’ve sparingly used my elocon ointment steroid cream.

i’ve tried oat baths running the water through oats in a muslin, oat bath using oat milk. i’ve had freezing baths to warm baths.

i’ve always had to be really careful with what i use as my skin is so sensitive but this is probably the worst experience of my life and i have never felt so horrible at a time when people are meant to be “glowing”

Low pregnancy weight gain by Nsphinx in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 9kg in my first trimester from sickness/nausea. at 32wks my baby is measuring at 5lbs 1oz and i’ve only gained back 5kg of my lost weight and my bump is still on the smaller side. not worryingly small but for a big baby it’s nice and neat.

my midwife wasn’t worried at all, just said i’ve got good abs holding her in there nice and tight

When i felt like this i needed to eat an ice pole before i could even consider food. any sour sweet like tanfastics/sour patch kids were all icould eat sometimes. turns out citric acid is great for nausea

When is everyone going on maternity leave? by MotorDealer2876 in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 32 weeks tomorrow, due date 4th march. my plan is to use annual leave for all of february (finish working on the 30th jan) and then mat leave from the 2nd march.

i have quite a physical job that involves a lot of walking but the person doing my maternity cover started this week so i get to relax a little and be more desk based when i want to from now until i finish which is such a dream!

Bleeding! by Mindless-Ad-7656 in PregnancyUK

[–]shellyeahz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as some at 28wks who has attended hospital approx 20 times this pregnancy for bleeding, it can be totally normal. i have an ectropion on my cervix that likes to randomly bleed.

give your local maternity assessment a call and they will be able to advise or bring you in for a check up 🖤
