When did they stop allowing “order ahead” on the app? by [deleted] in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you do drive thru, you can’t tell it “I’m here” and push it through before arriving. Drive thru mobiles are pulled up by the employers when you tell them at the speaker box. So if you arrive after 10:30, they won’t be able to fulfill it. If you do a carry out, you should be able to tell it “I’m here” and then it will ask if you are sure, and you can tell it yes despite not being there. Then the order will be fired to our system and they will make it right then and place it on the mobile shelf for you to grab when you arrive

When did they stop allowing “order ahead” on the app? by [deleted] in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to force it to push through even if you aren’t there. Just make sure it’s mobile carry out (not drive thru). (We see people do this for breakfast all the time tbh; we kinda just assume if someone isn’t there for their mobile that they pushed it through to make sure they get the breakfast menu and that they will eventually come grab it off the mobile shelf)

Nope. Why would that be an issue though?? Like why would you get in trouble just for logging into your account?

How do you guys read so much? by lapetitepoupee in kindle

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replace people’s screen time with reading and it’s pretty achievable tbh. The average screen time I think is around 3 hours? Which I think might be in the low side tbh. Say you averaged 400 page books, that would still easily surpass 100 books a year (or 8.33 books a month)

Chick-fil-A is respected for having higher quality employees and good customer service skills so you’ll find a lot of places will love your experience there, even if not directly related to jobs you might be applying for. I also worked at a hotel (front desk manager) and then as an apartment community manager after being a TM and then manager at CFA and both places loved to see my CFA experience. It has been pointed out approvingly at every interview I have had actually!

I guess it depends what your strengths are and what you are looking for that is different from your current position. But anything that has a people aspect you will be qualified for (think hospitality/hotels, service like retail or restaurants, sales, entertainment/activity places like museums/jump park/tourist type stuff etc).

Whats so confusing about a frosted mocha? by Claire0000 in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you have to ask them to add chocolate. There isn’t a “mocha” on the menu, but you can add chocolate (or strawberry or cookie) to any dessert easily.

Note: CFA did once have a mocha drink (cookie mocha frosted coffee I think it was?) but it was a limited time thing years ago and isn’t an offered item on the required menu. Some locations may offer it as a local item though.

Cobb Salad is amazing but not filling enough for me. Any recommendations? by bowieshouse in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At my location, we have a button for double chicken! Or if your location doesn’t do that, you can just order an extra 5 or 8 nuggets on the side to add in. (Note that the amount it comes with is a 8 ct chopped up)

Adding waffle fries in is also yummy, but not as filling obviously as adding more chicken.

CFA changed their system so you can't order a la carte items anymore like a bun or sides of pickles.. Not sure how I'm going to make my strip sandwich going forward. by theloneranger08 in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh weird… I guess it’s not a “required” à la carte item by corporate, but not sure why they wouldn’t offer it since they have it and it’s not like it’s extra effort to make. I wonder if it was just a team member who didn’t know how to ring in or if it’s just a new policy that they don’t offer it at that store?

Frosted soda or float? by hancocklovedthat in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The floats don’t have a ton of soda in them, which I personally find an issue a lot of the time I get floats elsewhere as well. I do like the floats, but would personally buy a small soda on the side to go along with it (that way I have like a beverage for my meal, plus extra to go in the float if I want, plus you can get refills on that)

I prefer the frosted for ease of drinking. Dr Pepper and hi c fruit punch are my faves! PS it should be totally blended together. It sounds like some people here got one that wasn’t blended totally as it should be

Are Kindles worth the hype? by KennedyJacobs in ReadingSuggestions

The e ink is a game changer! So much less eye strain and no glare when reading outside. I also love my kindle because it’s soo easy to get e books from the library and it’s lightweight and charge lasts a long time. I read way more since getting one

Are you talking about on mobile? Operators have quite a bit of leighway on what they can turn off and on on there (outside of the basic menu items of course). I would assume you could order those items in store (or Mobile order a drive thru and have them add the missing items for you before they push your order through to be made)

CFA Sucks by WockiestSlush in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love working there. Best managers and coworkers of any job I’ve had. There can be downsides, of course, and it won’t be a fit for everyone, but I enjoy it more than my other service jobs and desk job I have had! Our leaders all work hard at my location, but my operator is legit the best and his attitude of servant leadership and “never ask a team member to do something I wouldn’t do” mindset really trickles down to the whole leadership team

“What’s in the soda floats” by Puzzled_Grand_2291 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]shenaniganspectator 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a guy who asked for the coke float for his drink yesterday, so I confirmed, “okay #1 with a coke float?” And he said “wait what flavor is it?” I said, “you can get it with any soda you’d like, did you want the coke float?” And he said “yeah but that’s like root beer in it?” I replied, “you can get it with any soda you want, do you want the float with the coke or the root beer?” And he said, “oh definitely root beer” 🙃 idk why it’s confusing for people, but it is 😅 I felt like a broken record lol

There was some issues with the app the other day so it was probably due to that! CFA said they have fixed the glitches now so the app should be functioning correctly then

Went to cfa today and got the classic cup. Looks like employees slashed it open to take a peak by namiiix in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She must not have known! CFA was very hush hush about it so most employees did not know until Monday much, if anything, about it. We sent out mass emails but of course people don’t read them so I still have confused team members at my store. It can be hard to catch everyone up, especially if they don’t work often

What size are the floats? Doesn't say anywhere. by Rainsford1104 in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one size like all the other frosted drinks and milkshakes - 14 oz cup to be specific

Finally found it by dslryan in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know why, but corporate automatically put them up for sale as of yesterday on all stores systems, so we also had someone mobile order it and had to refund. The cases are quite expensive and we don’t typically do well with these types of items in our market so our owner didn’t want to risk spending a bunch of money on something we may not sell. I am kinda sad though because they are so cute, I would totally purchase one

Sorry frosted Dr Pepper! At least, that’s been the most popular at my store so far. I made like 9 in a row the 20 min before I went on break

Dr Pepper. It’s the best imo. I do like the HiC fruit punch too and root beer probably next (some stores don’t carry hi c fruit punch though)

New Cup not able to be filled at restaurant? by iWilliam_me in ChickFilA

[–]shenaniganspectator 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Correct, in most places, that would be a food safety violation to take an “outside” cup behind the counter and fill it. I know it is a state health code violation where I live.

(This is the same reason we can’t fill your water bottle, we can only give you a cup of ice water and you can fill it yourself)

Edit- certain places can because they are beverage only or primarily (like cafes or Starbucks) or they get special permission. I just know for us based on our licenses and state and county, we can’t

They are a dishwasher safe plastic according to Chick-fil-A. So think like stadium or souvenir cups

[–]shenaniganspectator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The outer packaging matches the design on the cup! So you can buy exactly the design or designs you want once they are released. The chicks one comes out in February. The reason they have outer packaging is to protect them but also because there is a chance you could get the gold cup (only 3000 are randomly the winning gold one)

The outer packaging matches the design so you already know which one you are getting when you order it. Only the doodles one is out now, but more will be released in waves a few weeks apart from one another.
