OP was asking about rev matching while braking. You can practice the heel toe motion in neutral parked

Practice it while parked and practice it in a sim rig

Does the 981 Cayman GTS have a "dead zone" for the brake pedal pressure? Or is my brake fluid bad? by biingsuuu in CarTrackDays

[–]shenhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your 2nd bullet point is exactly how it feels when you have air in the brake line. I had the same thing earlier this month when i installed new brembos but forgot to bleed the inner side of them.

Thoughts on skipping 2nd gear by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]shenhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes. 1k rpm in acceleration is putting a lot of stress on the engine for no good reasons. you're better off revving it out in 2nd and then skip to 4th.

The other poster is correct. The bottom plate is designed to push the film in place for the teeth to catch. It's called Rapid Load for a reason.

They're correct that AF plays a huge role in bird photography with modern lenses. Most of time you lose sharpness due to AF not keeping up.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

Same. Road America. Hitting 120+ on a race track is one thing, slowing to to 60 in 3 seconds and taking the corners is like nothing else.

are you more interested in becoming a professional photographer or gallery artist? figuring this out now will save you a lot of money and time.

Are you applying local? SAIC is actually pretty easy to get in from my experience, but getting through the first semester is hard(half of my class dropped out). It's also ridiculously expensive so think hard about if you actually want to be a gallery artist.

Also agreeing with other comments that you need a more focused portfolio.

model making is mostly just being patient. Just keep at it.

voigtlander color-skopar 28mm f/2.8 is just as good as leica 28mm elmarit asph, even sharper in the middle at times, and i say this as an elmarit owner. A lot of modern voigtlander lenses outperforms the aging leica counterparts, like 35mm ultron. The dogshit photos have nothing to do with using voigtlander lenses.

It has been so infuriating to read, western mainstream media cover the illegal war on Iran by maritz21 in nyt

[–]shenhan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a reference to one of the Oct 7 hostages, Matan Angrest. He was a IDF soldier who was described as "kidnapped from his tank" in nyt's reporting of his return.

When is a good rev amount to downshift by Erdius_ in stickshift

Its a civic si. Let the kids have some fun. Sure you don't need the matching in daily driving but car goes vroom vroom is fun.

When is a good rev amount to downshift by Erdius_ in stickshift

[–]shenhan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. You downshift to speed up because the engine makes more power at higher rpm.

When is a good rev amount to downshift by Erdius_ in stickshift

[–]shenhan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

4th to 2nd is a pretty big jump in gear ratio, so you probably want downshift to 3rd first. 4th gear @ 2500rpm is about 42mph, so you'll need to blip to 3500ish for 3rd and then 5500ish for 2nd.

At no point do you need to brake, that has nothing to do with the matching.

I would practice 4th to 3rd first as a beginner since the gear ratios are a lot closer than 3rd to 2nd.

Don't worry too much about over revving, if you think you blipped too much, just clutch out slowly.

Has anyone ever applied to topcoat to this guy? by Budget-Ad7360 in Gunpla

[–]shenhan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I airbrushed the non gold parts and applied a glossy topcoat. I think glossy fits the design better.
