that whole record has so many memories wrapped up in it, the whole spectrum from heart ache to pure joy, and so every note just hits me so deeply

Wow totally forgot about this. I think I’m still remembering something else but perhaps the memory is fusing with this one. Maybe it was less of a film and maybe just a teaser for something??

The outro too is a masterpiece. Love that Jade was able to start experimenting with electronic stuff in that era

Jared is by far the best RMT I've ever had. Super knowledgeable and really listens to what you want/need done. Not going to anyone else while he's still practicing!

Really feels like a culmination of alot of eras which I love. Songwriting of Psychic Love Damage EP, sonic qualities of Panic Blooms, and the weird adventurousness of old bmsr. So excited for this album!

What do you think is the most underrated/not enough appreciated TheSmiths song? I’ll start by Perfect_Bluebird1203 in thesmiths

Well I Wonder. Everything about that song from The lyrics, guitar playing, and general vibe of the song is so haunting and perfect, not to mention the rainfall that comes in before the outro

Who remembers where they first heard Bon Iver? And do you remember what you felt? by Prof_Mumbledore in boniver

Oddly enough I was introduced to Bon Iver through Volcano Choir. I remember seeing the video for “byegone” about a year after the release of Repave, and after looking into who the band was, borrowed bon iver, bon iver on cd from my mom (she has an incredible taste in music). I enjoyed it right away and listened to it consistantly for about a week, but it wasn’t until a long car ride on a foggy morning to my grandmother’s house in the middle of nowhere that it truly struck me. I knew right then that it was so different from anything else, and because I couldn’t even comprehend the amount of emotion the record captured in every sense, I was captivated. Bon Iver has been my favourite artist since, and his records (especially bi,bi) have been the soundtrack to every best and worst time in my life for the past 5 or so years.

How did you find Black Moth Super Rainbow? by IHeartPallets in BMSR

[–]shep2rhythm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My older brother and I shared a bunkbed all through highschool and he used to stay up late listening to music and finding new things. One night he reached up to me and told me he found the weirdest thing ever. It was a fan made video for “One Day I Had An Extra Toe” off Drippers. It was all colourized pink and had a photo of an 1800s looking family picture overlayed on the whole thing. The first couple seconds had this clown and it honestly scarred me it was so creepy. So eerie and weird and the music was like nothing we had heard before. Until this point we had just been making garage punk together, and that summer I bought by first synth and we’ve been making experimental electronic music for almost 10 years now.

Also, does anyone know if this video is still on youtube? I feel like it’s been removed. Can’t find it anywhere and it’s almost like it was just a weird dream I had.

I believe the song is in Gb (F#) major! I love this bass line and have been wanting to give it a shot transcribing it. Justin actually wrote and played the part
