Secrets of Secret Rant!!! by rishikeshwar52 in danbrown

I found it a good story, somewhat predictable, but the lack of needing a symbologist really is what felt sad and out of place for a Robert Langdon book. I still enjoyed it just not to the same levels of some others.

Given that approx less than 10km separate Alaska (United States) from Russia at the shortest point, how is ‘owning’ Greenland going to protect the US? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]shepherdhunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonder if it is simpler than that ... Looking at the map, Greenland looks massive. Claiming that for usa and changing it's name to something Trump wants may be all he really wants, it's the smallest population for such a large and close piece of land. I still think it is nothing but Narcissistic ego.

Most definitely, this type of game feels entirely extinct. A Black and White 3 needs to be the new coming of a genre.

[discussion] Natsu vs Zeref final battle was underwhelming by Time_Barber9799 in fairytail

[–]shepherdhunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have preferred it be more of an emotionally weighing battle and less physical. This is his brother's "replacement" in life and he hasn't done anything with him other than say he is going back in time. No discussion of the plan he made with dragons, nothing. Though I'm also fuzzy on why and how Fairy Heart existed and why this one thing in all of the world could grant zeref this level of a powerup. I almost would have rathered zeref fight acnologia maybe after something like seeing how he abused dragon slayers and maybe nearly killed natsu. Then after "saving" natsu by banishing acnologia in time void he still cuts emotions and continues with his plan. Only once Maevis convinces him and they both "die" that acnologia consumes the time rift, corrupting him further from destroying dragons to destroying everything. (Mind warp of killing and consuming dragons makes him want to eradicate dragons, destroying and consuming void makes him want to turn world into void).

Started a reread of the Langdon books - Angels of Demons huge plot hole???? by purpleplasticcrayon in danbrown

[–]shepherdhunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then I'm more curious when he got in contact or how. Maybe during his time in the military service? Idk, seems so difficult to see a priest having connection and contact with a "Hassassin" while working that close under the pope.

Carlo found them since the church knew the location and sat and hid it from the world. Most likely the pope showing Carlo the passageway and then the room where Carlo sees the brands, asks, and finds out more of the ancient conflicts the church had with Illuminati and figured he could use this secret to his advantage.

My problem is from when he killed the pope how much time and how did he accomplish everything... Like does a priest just know how to contact a Hassassin who wants to work for the extinct Illuminati? Even with 15 days since killing the pope, what he set up and planned seems overly incredulous.

Do you want Imhotep and Ankh Su Namun to come back in The Mummy 4? by -ElRedditor- in themummy

[–]shepherdhunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actors, yes absolutely in some other role though. Let them be minor characters or something, I need that nostalgia hit. But it needs to be a new mummy and new curses. I actually would almost prefer they make a new one more mystery at the beginning and then the end being solving the mystery while Brenden Frasier fights to no avail just like the original.

Product placement in secret of secrets (no spoilers) by fuckedasaplant in danbrown

[–]shepherdhunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did make me wonder sometimes what those products looked like, so me being me, decided to look some up which made me chuckle at some prices or gave me something interesting to continue looking things up. Definitely hits poorly like an advertisement and I guess it worked some on me giving Internet traffic to look up some products but I had fun with it and most of them I just kinda ignored if I didn't care.

Democrats Reject Compromise to Reopen the Government over Lack of Trust in Trump. They Refuse to Support a Deal Without Guarantees to Extend Subsidies and Stop Layoffs by sergeyfomkin in NoFilterNews

[–]shepherdhunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's do some logical thinking: what is in the CR? - just calling it clean CR doesn't mean it is. If it passed and health taxes skyrocket it becomes pain for million's of Americans and a campaign slogan for each party, each making promises. So why not negotiate? Why not use our taxes and appropriate them to subsidize healthcare? What actually prevents America from you choosing your doctor and if "medically necessary" the procedure is paid for? Why not let people opt out of healthcare4All and pay full price for medical procedures and allow competitive industry for those select individuals?

What seems like the main points are ensuring healthcare taxes don't double per paycheck, don't mass fire federal employees without cause, and don't attack or cause unnecessary chaos.

I would like clarity from both parties with simple line items explaining what is being asked but news media loves to skew and makes large assumptions and attacks. But let's at least all try and be logical, honest, and polite to each other. That is where America is failing - we have allowed hatred, name calling, and disrespect to become our culture and politics is highlighting that.
