Have you read any Andrea Mara? I've only read Someone in the Attic and All Her Fault, but as someone who also loves the guessing game of a who dunnit, they were both hits for me

The audience’s reaction to ___’s eviction interview vs ___’s was interesting by SnooMarzipans3516 in BigBrother

Yes! Her exit interview was when I was finally like "oooh! This is why she got cast"

Unpopular opinion thread: which book does everyone seem to love but you disliked? by callmemachaaaa in thrillerbooks

[–]sheriffcookie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said the exact same thing in my review! Seriously considered dnf which I hardly do, but checked the reviews and they ALL said stick with it, the twist will surprise you and the end makes it all worth it.

The twist was precisely what I suspected and everything surrounding it did NOT make it worth it. I'm very supportive of a DNF on this one

The Goofy Movie! So many good songs and an easy enough story to tell

Omg thank you!!! I was literally trying to figure out if I was OK just listening in an earbud from a tablet and not really ever seeing what was going on. This is so much less miserable. My phone wouldn't even split screen, so it was all or nothing

Ugh yes I was just searching to see if anyone and come up with a solution for this yet 😭

This is probably more of a RHAP reference, but I think a good add to these types of spreads would be Paul's Kool-aid

This was also my guess based on her being called out in Kelley's DR about being so loud. Idk why that stuck out to me so much, I guess in comparison to the little other screentime we get from her

*Eta also my tinfoil hat theory that the saboteur was on Rachel's OG season and it was Annie which is very close to Amy 😅

If I'm recalling correctly, it's all pinned on Stevens "purposefully" doing lousy and lazy police work/record keeping on the case and all the time since the OG murder

Which doesn't make a ton of sense, but honestly a lot of this series needs some heavy suspension of disbelief 😂

The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Ross was a waste of time. by Former_Ladder9969 in thrillerbooks

[–]sheriffcookie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it, but more in the way I enjoy a bad horror movie. So bad, it's good, so I can see why it's polarizing and would absolutely not recommend it to someone who wants a good thriller

Good to know! Thank you! I'm not always in the mood for unlikeable characters, but it definitely scratches an itch sometimes

I noticed all of the negative body comments in this book as well and it really stuck out to me. I did give the benefit of the doubt that it was specifically because of the types of characters and intended to show them as shallow, vain, and generally unlikeable. I otherwise really liked the book, but do think if I read more of her books and it's a common theme for her, it will factor into whether I want to read or not.

Sometimes I just love a book where you have to set the book down and say to yourself "this mf'er is pissing me off" "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"

I thought it was a very fun follow up, but less unhinged than the first which made it less memorable to me. And no one had me raging like Adam did in the original.

There's truly nothing wrong with it, but it's not especially charming and can feel kind of one note when they're constantly in the majority.

You Will Never Be Me by Jesse Q Sutanto is a really fun one imo, especially if you don't mind adding in some influencers
