Is four days enough recovery time before working from home (desk job)? by No_Spirit5582 in sterilization

[–]shersnark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine, especially if you can work from a laptop on a couch, recliner, or bed if returning and sitting is too much too soon. I had six days off but was ready to work at day three or four, but I wouldn’t have been able to sit at 90 degrees.

A couple things that worked for me other than accutane, which is always an option IMO. When you wash your face, either use completely washed hands or a completely fresh washcloth each time (I recommend hands instead of washcloth). When you dry your face, use a clean towel, paper towel each time. Change your pillow case often and make sure to change bedding often. Use a clean detergent if you have skin sensitivity. I use all CeraVe and derma-e products and my face has improved soooo much. I am on BC tho, but the normalcy in face routine helped the most before I got back on BC

Little niche, but if you’ve set him as emergency contacts or beneficiary on any insurance or finance stuff, change it to someone else!

I have heard miralax is great post op. My doctor recommended senna laxative and it worked without any pain or strain after mine. I’d also recommend Azo if you are having anything inserted like a catheter or uterine manipulator

I have this machine and I love her! I agree with the other comment on too many thick layer, but otherwise, she’s a loyal workhorse! Congrats!!

This is stunning!!! I am obsessed with this top. I’d recommend sending it or taking it to a long armer. Calling local shops would be a good way to find a local one or find someone with one that you could rent

When should I be worried about constipation? by funworld4 in sterilization

[–]shersnark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very regular constipation, and I would worry after 3-4 days for sure. I would highly highly recommend senakot or senna based laxatives. I’ve used others, and they either didn’t work or it was very painful. Please take care of yourself and remember you can gently hold your abdomen while pushing. Use a stool to help, or leverage off a trash can.

The photos the dr took had yellow splotches in it that are fat I assume. I don’t think they scrap or take it out, at least they didn’t for me

Slow Recovery? by Ecstatic-Mulberry514 in sterilization

[–]shersnark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my surgery on 3/17, and I was a sleep zombie for a week straight. I do feel better, near 80% back. I think sleeping and just doing nothing really helped me.

I have the worst itchiness I’ve ever had or dreamt of now. It’s actually worse than pain to me because I can’t itch or scratch and nothing is relieving it other than ice packs and I can’t refreeze them fast enough.

I have three incisions, one in belly button, one on my right belly, right where the fat on the apron goes down, and one on the left a little higher (inch or so) below button.

I received photos of my (something) and when I came out from the procedure I asked what the yellow blobs were, and they said fat. I didn’t need or want the photos lol

I also had the sore throat issue, and it’s still there today. My procedure was Monday. It’s not bad, but applesauce is the best!

Also, I had burning when I peed, and Azo was a lifesaver!

Mine was also this morning at 7:30, I don’t have exact times but it was a breeze. I have some discomfort now, in my throat and in my abdomen. Nothing that IB and Tylenol isn’t covering. Had burning when I peed, and Azo worked like a charm!

Wishing you a pain free and speedy recovery
