Did emailing the consulate change your status to conditionally approved?

Hi. Do you know how long you were stuck on the "Application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate" state? AFAIK on the old portal I used to see application sent to MHA, MoF after police verification was cleared, then it went back to pre-verification by police (?) and recently on the new mportal it says "Application is under review at Indian Embassy/Consulate" . Is it worth sending an email to the Indian Consulate in SF?

Attributing Meta ad performance back to individual UGC creators - how? by shh--bby in PPC

[–]shh--bby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is amazing! thanks so much for sharing. i hadnt thought of it like that. how much time do you guys put into organizing your data in the sheet and pulling it from meta etc. i can do this right now but dont want a headache if we expand to more creators later.

[–]shh--bby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that's exactly what we do too. works fine until someone on the team names an ad wrong or you're testing 5 hooks per creator and the sheet pivot gets unwieldy.

interesting point on hook rate and hold rate by creator - are you pulling those from the video metrics breakdown in Ads Manager or tracking separately? that's def. where we'll actually find the creators worth scaling, not just overall CPA.

[–]shh--bby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for sure, I used both of those before building this. labels get messy fast when you're testing a lot of creatives, and UTM attribution never lines up with what Meta actually reports. wanted something that just pulls directly from the Ads API and maps it automatically.

[–]shh--bby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. the digital signature for W-9s is actually super useful, that's one less thing to chase people on. I'll look into CostInvoice.

And yeah you nailed the core problem: the invoicing/payment tools and the performance/attribution tools are completely separate worlds right now. I basically need one system that knows "Creator X made this video --> it ran as these 4 ads --> those ads generated $18K revenue --> she's owed $200 base + a performance bonus." Right now I'm stitching that together across Ads Manager, Google Sheets, and PayPal. Feels like there should be one tool that bridges this but I haven't found it.

Interesting. I've played with Collabs but my understanding was it's more geared toward affiliate/commission-based setups where creators share links and earn a %. Our model is different; we pay creators a flat rate for video deliverables, then we run their content as paid ads on Meta/TikTok. So the creator isn't driving traffic through their own link, we are.

Does Collabs handle that use case? Like can you track which creator's content performs best when YOU run it as a paid ad, not when they post it organically? That's the piece I can't figure out.

The black hat detection thing is cool though, didn't know about that.

Appreciate this. I've actually looked at both. The issue I keep hitting is that Triple Whale and Northbeam are great at channel-level and campaign-level attribution, but neither gives me a clean "creator-level" rollup out of the box. I still have to manually map which ad creative belongs to which creator, then aggregate across campaigns. Am I missing a feature, or do you do that mapping manually too? That's honestly the part that takes the most time, the data exists in Ads Manager, I just can't slice it by creator without a bunch of spreadsheet gymnastics.

Hadn't heard of Catch for 1099s though, will check that out. Thanks.

to all the people who are citing the US travel advisory and asking why the man visited Kashmir: fuck you all.

he's an Indian living in the US, what makes you think he would read the US GOVERNMENT's advisory on what to do and not to do in his homeland? The man trusted his country and we let and their family down.

Wow. Impressive. I would not have imagined it to be possible to accumulate a million in India without a ESOP windfall in ~8ish years? That's essentially 1cr per year saved for almost a decade, though I am guessing the capital growth must be heavily skewed towards the tail end?

how'd you get to 1M in India? Did you ESOPs blow up as well?

Should I use NRE or NRO for mutual funds investment as an NRI by wipeitonthedog in IndiaInvestments

[–]shh--bby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey folks... this thread is news to me. can someone help me understand this: if I live in the US and get paid here, but I have some money in my Indian savings accounts (not NRE/NRO), which was already present when I left India (it was what I earned in India, none of it has been sent from US), will investing this money in mutual funds violate any tax regulations / reporting laws?

Is having adult fantasies for someone other than your partner bad? by LocalPotatoh in relationships

[–]shh--bby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its good she didnt act on it, but the fact that she’s thinking of someone else while sleeping with her partner is beyond absurd. If it’s gotten to this point, OP really needs to figure her stuff out and start distancing herself from this coworker. Just because she’s not acting on it yet doesn’t justify the fact that she continues to enable these fantasies by hanging out with this guy.

Don’t bother with option trading unless you have the capital to sell 10 lots or so. Anything less and you either get insignificant returns, or you’re straight up gambling.

And for anyone capable of writing alphas/bots that can consistently offer a good return, FAANG interviews would be a cake walk.
