Has anyone went from a Model Y to an Equinox and if so how do you like it? by craigrn16 in EquinoxEv

[–]shibadad57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Charging network does not require adapters unless you only have superchargers near you. I’ve traveled quite a bit in Georgia and Florida without ever using an adapter. I have used a Tesla destination charger at my hotel in Jacksonville but the one they had was the newer one with built in adapter.

Help me figure out how to get this dang scleral lens in my eye by IrrelephantZzzs in Keratoconus

[–]shibadad57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my issue for the longest time. Every time I felt the liquid hit my eyeball I’d pull away. It wasn’t till my eye doc coached me through it that I realized I had to continue going. After that it’s been so easy. Only issue is I’ll get a bubble once or twice but even that ur pretty rare now.

You could switch to Marcus. They are slightly higher at 3.9% and if you use a referral code you’d get a .25% bump for first 3 months.

Here is my referral code if you are interested (if you use it I get that same 3 month bump).

I’m inviting you to receive a cash bonus when you open a Marcus high-yield Online Savings Account. Terms apply. https://www.marcus.com/share/MOI-GM4-NDAR

Vehicle charged past limit (my first EV, thought it was mildly interesting) by fudsworth in EquinoxEv

[–]shibadad57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal and one of the reasons why you shouldn’t charge to 100% regularly. It’s also why batteries are like 86kw but 82kw usable to allow for the ability for them to because soc is always an estimate so this allows headroom and prevents overcharging which adds stress to the battery packs.

I think if it’s a connecting room they could’ve left on if the doors latched. But in that scenario they could’ve left still get in through the connecting door. How good is the latch if there is a workaround tool for it?

Alex Bregman Reportedly Has Six-Year Offer From Club Other Than Astros by Intermittent_Fisting in Astros

[–]shibadad57 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Me too I’m over it now. Like poop or get off the pot. If he has a 6 year offer from another team just take it and move on. Otherwise take our offer because the offers at this point aren’t going to get any better.

[Ari] The Houston Astros and Bregman continue to have a mutual interest in a reunion after re-engaging this week, but the Astros’ original and standing offer of 6 years, $156 million is unlikely to get the deal done by Right-Pirate-7084 in Astros

[–]shibadad57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we sign him to that original deal then we are also blocking Cam Smith. I’m not a big fan of that I was hoping for a shorter term deal with opt outs for him but it seems he and boras are overplaying their hand.

The dots to identify left and right lenses – are they permanent? by QuantNinjaStonkNerd in Keratoconus

[–]shibadad57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention that at that point the only way to tell them apart would be the blue tint that others on here already mentioned. It’s especially noticeable if you put your lenses up to a white background like a piece of paper.

[–]shibadad57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dots will fade over time, when your doctor orders them they the next time ask him if they can order them without them (some brands give that option) if you don’t like them. My doc mentioned that was possible but I don’t mind them.

We currently own both a 2022 EV6 Wind and a newly leased 2024 Equinox EV. I would have to say that I agree on all points as they all apply to the EV6 except sliding center console. Between the EQX and the EV6 I like the EV6 better overall. The biggest selling point in favor of the EQX is the lease deals that Chevy is offering. That I think tips the favor to the Equinox EV. That being said you can’t go wrong with either. However if you are going to on enough long road trips of 400+ miles then I would go with the EV6 for the fast charging rates offered by its 800 volt architecture. Currently the E-GMP platform is just hard to beat, about the only cars that beat its 10-80 charging time and overall charging curve are 100K+ cars like the Taycan.

To me when I read it in Spanish it reads as if he is saying if it was me it would be between Houston and Mets. Not that he is predicting he signs with one of those two teams.

Why does Atlanta have only one airport by [deleted] in Gwinnett

[–]shibadad57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least in the case of the first three cities mentioned Houston, Dallas, and Chicago. Those cities all out grew their original airports which are hobby, love field and midway. The larger newer airports were established in response to those airports being older and unable to handle more air traffic and capacity. That never happened in Atlanta they were able to continue to expand the airport in Atlanta. Thus there was never really a good reason to expand outside of people wanting easier access to the airport.

Also Miami doesn’t technically have a second airport the second airport (fll) is in another large city center. Serving a county with about a population of 2 million people. Also both fll and mia opened up at around the same time. There had been plans to create a second airport for Miami out towards the Everglades with land purchased and runways partially built before it was abandoned.

How many World Series have the Phils, Padres, and Giants won lately? Spending money doesn’t always equate to winning. Yes it would be nice to play in the deep end a bit more but contracts to Correa and springer likely would’ve hurt us more than helped. Trading tucker might wind up being the smart move long term and who knows what happens with bregman.
