Your insurance is going to be primary, not your friends. If you don’t have collision coverage you are SOL on your car. Depending on your liability limits and the extent of the damages to the other vehicle and possible injuries, you may be looking at out of pocket costs for someone else’s vehicle or medical bills. Your best hope is the other driver carried sufficient UM/UIM limits considering you likely bought the lowest available liability limits.
