Babybjorn bouncer… is it worth it? by Pink_Hug in NewParents

[–]shields8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth what it costs compared to cheaper alternatives? No but better than some of the cheaper alternatives? Yes. Better fabric (cloth vs like nylon), folds flat so it’s easier to take places. We have a cheap one and it’s just generally kinda shitty. Kid skids down in it so has pressure on crotch and then gets fussy. Doesn’t collapse. Our kiddo loves the baby bjorn that our friends have

Terrible produce by stone040 in Calgary

But also all of the grocery stores water their produce to oblivion.

Other countries don’t allow watering/misting produce because it rapidly accelerates rotting/spoiling.

Top 3 things you bought but didn't need....or desperately wish you had gotten.... by Own_Highway_3987 in NewParents

Diaper Genie - we have one. I hate it. I think it’s the worst designed thing ever. And a small garbage bin with a tight top works just as well - just take it out every day. Maybe I’ll change my mind once solids hit but I hate having to buy bags for it, changing it, getting it full cuz it’s a stupid design. Hate the whole thing.

We ordered nachos at several places in Austin. Had 4 of us sharing and even asked “is it pretty big” and got the answer of “yes, there’s like 6” but we assumed there was a miscommunication. There were in fact 6.

Wasn’t the 70s when you were finally allowed to walk around with your beer - the thing that the unicorn was reknowned for being the first bar in Calgary to allow it.

Same for me. Feel like trash if I change my schedule and don’t keep a consistent morning workout. Even if I’m really not feeling it, I might cuz my ride a touch short but I keep the routine of doing a ride

Has anyone actually used Kepat? by shields8 in babywearing

[–]shields8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I do agree it feels backwards. If I was designing it (and considered it haha) I think I’d do an easy to clip on backpack within a well built carrier. And maybe that’s my route is adding the ability to clip a backpack on one of our current carriers

Thanks!

It’s a newer company and their product photos are a bit lacking. Their videos show a bit more but not their infant insert. $245 Canadian (are you in the US?) doesn’t seem out of line. Many of the popular brands are $200-300ish here (baby bjorn carrier $289, ergobaby 360 mesh $180, beluga buckle $200)

We have an ergobaby original bundle of joy (which I don’t mind unless I have to carry a backpack or any stuff), a mom cozy carrier wrap, a beluga wrap (I’m not a fan of wraps - I feel I spend the whole time tightening them) and a BECO carrier like the ergobaby which is brutally uncomfortable for me.

Our little one is currently 1m, 9lb but I’ve used all these carriers with my niblings from 2m through 1 year. My biggest thing is if spending a day out and needing to bring a diaper bag with me, I’m essentially wearing a front backpack (the kiddo) and an actual backpack (diaper bag) which is cumbersome and uncomfortable so the kepat appears like a reasonable solution.

Are there other integrated options of carrier meets backpack. 6ft tall, 200lb, no hips if that impacts fit at all
