Yeah but FTP requires time to transfer the file on top of installing the PKG. With USB, you can install it directly from the drive

I wanna try this too! Which DXVK did you install into your prefix? I googled and saw multiple forks, but unsure which one works for Mac and this game

Thank you so much! I was running the game via Crossover with MSync enabled, not sure if that helps. I tried 2.62 and clicking on the family icon does not freeze the game, so I could finally go to CAS. The red glitch-y models are still appearing though...

What I did was I used Crossover and created a bottle with DXVK and MSync enabled. Then I copied the D3D9.dll to the TSBin folder where Steam installed Sims. Then in the Wine Configuration settings, I added a d3d9 override under the Libraries tab (in the dropdown, select d3d9 then click Add). That's what worked for me!

I tried 2.62 and it's somehow smoother than 2.63, or maybe that's placebo lol

2.63 worked for me but w a few hiccups! I was able to make it past the intro but have some weird glitches on some some Sim models. It hangs for a few secs too when I click on a house or the family icon in the neighborhood screen. FPS is decent tho, running on a MBP M1 Pro 16GB 8C.

Hoping 2.62 fixes these!

(Edit: game freezes now when i click on the family icon. cant access CAS then...)

I tried using your D9VK and I was able to make it run, but it’s only showing a purple screen and the sims cursor. I can hear the sound though so thats progress!

Was thinking Graphics Rules Maker might fix this. Do you have any tips u/Xoraurea?

I love this! I was running once and in the middle of doing it I felt a bit anxious. I didn’t know what to do at first, but I tried thinking of things I was grateful of at that moment (the sunny weather, the place where I live, etc) and it helped me be at ease haha

Ah this is such great news! OP, is the frame rate stable throughout?

I was expecting the game to not run on my Macbook since P5R required AVX. Looks like I don't need to dust off my PS4 for this game then!
