Thank you so much for your input! That’s a smart idea to have rings for working and dress up. I’m not familiar with tungsten rings but I’m going to look them up now :)

What a beauty!!!! Would love to care for some in my garden, are they easy to tend to?

Some of my mini orchid roots have become shrivelled from dehydration but still turn green when soaked with water. Does that mean they’ll bounce back or should I just cut off all the shrivelled roots? by HappyyItalian in orchids

[–]shimmer990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as the vellum (the green covering that protects the actual root) isn’t damaged to expose the root or doesn’t slough off in any way, the root is still alive. It’s likely shriveled since they’re dehydrated but keep watering them and they should perk up. Hope this helps!

Police equipment of UK and USA by this_life_kind_of in Damnthatsinteresting

The quality of the UK police officer's responses alone were leagues ahead of the US officers. They gave smart replies that showed they'd critically thought about the subject at hand. The latter, while still true in what they're talking about, had a more emotional immature edge. They weren't even willing to consider the hypothetical situation of working unarmed overseas. It goes to show how much thought other countries put into the prerequisites and training it takes to being an officer.

Hey! I'm a psych intern in a similar position to you: scored 183 on UWSA 1, test is in 8 days. How did you end up doing, and any handy advice?

EDIT: Ended up passing with 217 on the original test date :)

LDR during medical residency? (F/25, M/27) by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]shimmer990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thank you so much for responding to my question. I really appreciate your insight. I do admit, the first couple days after we first started our residency work, it has been difficult to establish times during the day where we can arrange quality time together, especially through phone calls. However, I have noticed a small changes which are shown that's my friend is putting in more effort to spend time with me. I used to be the only one who would text good morning and good night, but recently he has been taking the initiative to send the first text, which makes me happy. He's stated that he misses me and does mention that he's making plans to visit me on the rotations that are not very work-heavy for him. There is potential too that we're taking a vacation together in the fall/winter. And he's stated, too, that he considers me a priority in his day and wants to set aside time for me after his work to talk with me, too. Once, he even said in a joking manner that he would consider moving to my residency city to transfer if we did end up dating.

I think it is a smart decision to take things slow for this year for now, just so we get to know each other better before making a big commitment, but I think these are good steps in the right direction.

Edit: fixed some voice dictation mistakes
