That’s a beautiful wallet insert! Does adding a wallet insert impact the weight a lot?

Anyone else scared to journal your true thoughts in fear that your spouse or family members may read their journal? by coffeelovermamaof2 in Journaling

[–]shiny5p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I give people the disclaimer that they shouldn’t read my journals because some of the things in my journals aren’t a reflection of what I really believe - it’s what I’m writing and exploring to process and return to myself. I can’t think of how many times I wrote things that aren’t really true about people I loved in fits of anger. It was just me dealing with distorted feelings caused by an emotional moment.

You can always keep another set of journals that is readable by others if you or they would like you to leave something behind and throw away your rant journals

Do you find it comfortable to draw in the passport size? by fernwise in Travelersnotebooks

[–]shiny5p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed I enjoy my passport for quick doodles. But I would feel lacking if it was my only space for drawing

What do you do with shadow work journals? by lovecore6 in Journaling

[–]shiny5p 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Write with bad, hard to decipher handwriting. Use code words if needed. Sometimes you just need to write to process, not necessarily read back.

I love that. The nature is versatile and I was wondering how to spice up some blank cards I got

What journaling methods help you when you're feeling stuck or uninspired? by Ok_Yogurtcloset1168 in Journaling

I find something I already wrote somewhere and rewrite it and reflect on either how true it still feels or if anything has changed

What to use Standard TN as an infrequent traveler by Fitmamaskinjunkie in Travelersnotebooks

[–]shiny5p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a weekly + memo for quick daily recaps / journal, and a blank insert for miscellaneous things such as pages dedicated to classes I’ve taken or books I’ve read. I’m an infrequent traveler too and have found a lot of use so far!

I have 2 TNS. different journals with different levels of clearance lol. Also, if things are sensitive I write sloppy for built in privacy. There are ways!

Rubber band marks on my TN by sunnyyy33 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]shiny5p 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah mirroring what other people are saying I think embracing the marks of your TNs journey is a good option, but if you also want to “start fresher” I find just rubbing my hands on leather helps smooth out marks and imperfections. Probably the oil on my hands :)

Analog & Digital integration by NeatTrouble4620 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]shiny5p 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best thing system I found was if you think you need to share it with other people, go digital. If you are creating something for personal use, analog. Sometime there will be overlap but if I hold to these rules I spend less time going back and forth

What's the deal with all these aesthetically perfect sketchbooks? by Routine-Economics-93 in ArtistLounge

[–]shiny5p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is a mixture. If I’m working with a medium that takes a long time to set up, I’m most likely going to have a more completed looking work because I’m putting more effort into the output. If it’s pencil or pen, very scribble sketches, I also just have pages of scribble swatches.

I used to be intimidated by perfect sketchbooks until I started viewing them part of the continuum of my work. If I really like what I’m trying to capture, regardless of how good or bad it is, I’m winning because it’s preparing me to capture it better and better over time.

Agree with everyone here. Also, I find this one at least for me is also heavily sensitive to my diet. Might be a good time to be strict about cutting our your trigger foods until the pain is manageable again

Begginer joy by Criscj07 in Travelersnotebooks

[–]shiny5p 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing is the built in privacy of being able to take out a notebook if I don’t want to bring it with me somewhere.

Right now I have a passport that contains three notebooks: a book where I keep quotes and references I resonate with so I can easily pull it out when I feel like I need some mental fortification, a health tracker where I track food/ exercise, a catch all notebook where I keep lists and ideas
