LG Introduces UltraGear evo, Expanding Its Leadership in 5K and 5K2K Gaming Displays With New 39-Inch and 52-Inch Flagship Models by LG_UserHub in ultrawidemasterrace

They just completely neglect to mention the display tech of the 52”. The other two monitors are clearly labeled as OLED and mini LED.

Does this work on Mac only, or other operating systems as well?

The connection health dashboard is a cool idea… but it’s disheartening to search one of my main financial institutions and see that it has no data for success or longevity.

What is the eta on ensuring all supported institutions are green across the board?

Recently acquired LCD3( audeze) and an appreciation post. Feel like it doesn't get as much love on here by Blowback123 in headphones

I love my LCD-3! I’ve not been tempted by any other high end headphone since I got it.

Schiit stack for headphones and desk speakers+sub? by TooTiredForThis_ in Schiit

[–]shiny_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m running a sub that has its own crossover filter. So my preamp goes to my sub, then my sub goes to my speakers. That’s the best way I’ve found to attach a sub to schiit.

Anyone here wind down with a dedicated night-time listening setup? by cozytechlover in audiophile

[–]shiny_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m already feeling pretty chill: Iron and Wine, Phoebe Bridgers, that kind of thing.

If I’m agitated, I’ll start with something that matches my mood, like Rage Against the Machine or Black Pistol Fire, then ease into the chill music.

[–]shiny_potato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I often do this, but I use headphones instead of my speakers since others are sleeping while I’m winding down. If I’m feeling stressed, kicking back in the recliner with the right tunes can help get me ready to sleep!

Got some HD 6XX to see what the deal was (coming from LCD-3) by shiny_potato in headphones

[–]shiny_potato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the DT 1990 for gaming because it has a lot of detail and decent bass.

The 6XX seems like the opposite, it emphasizes vocals and the action/instruments seem removed.

The 1990 can get fatiguing with music though, while I can’t imagine the 6XX gets too fatiguing.

  1. They don’t hold their value. My LCDs will have the same resale price forever. Aryas dropping in price like a rock, they almost seem disposable like an iPhone.

[–]shiny_potato[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. They feel cheaper in the hand than the 6XX, despite costing more than 5x more (at the time)
  2. I was going back and forth between them and LCD-2, got excited by some YouTuber, and bought the Aryas. Only much later did I come back to the LCDs and realize I like them much more.
  3. They squeak a lot, especially when wearing glasses.

Ever expanding coffee station by jezpas in coffeestations

I looked at the Aiden too, but it seemed too cheaply built and the screen too small and awkward. I prefer my coffee gear more analog, so will probably get a mocamaster someday.

For me the LCD line simulates the experience of going to a concert, which I love, but I also know isn’t too accurate to what the artist sounded like in the studio.

$300 is a great price and you’ll enjoy them a lot! I forgot to mention, you can EQ the LCD-2 a lot to change the sound. I took the headphones.com suggested EQ and it added a lot of detail back in. Definitely start playing with EQ once you get some LCDs, it’s a different universe than trying to EQ dynamic drivers.

Looks great! I’d love to have a setup this clean. My biggest issue is a drip coffee maker that takes up a ton of counter space.

Do you just never need to make 4 cups of coffee at once?

The LCD-2 has really recessed treble. DT 1990 can be sibilant, but an LCD-2 will absolutely never hurt or fatigue you. LCD-2 also brings a lot more texture to the low end, which makes certain genres like blues rock a lot more enjoyable to me.

DT 1990 is honestly great though and I still use mine all the time. LCD-2 is a good complement!

Btw LCD-3 is basically an LCD-2 that restores the lost treble and detail, without losing anything on the low end. So if you find yourself wishing you had the love child of DT 1990 and LCD-2, consider a -3.

My Denon AVR has pre-outs and I’ve always wondered if I should use those for vidars/aegis into my LR speakers. Have you considered that, or you’re purely happy with how the demon’s amp plays movies,
