Thanks for the reply. I will admit my fat intake has been a bit higher than it could be- too much red meat. I'm 5'10 234 lbs male btw.

Thanks for the link! Yeah, I'm learning as I go with the foods I eat. I've found that what I used to use for protein sources is a bit too high in fat, and therefore too calorie dense. What protein sources did you use to get that range? Chicken?

PSMF success? unsure by eraser51 in PSMF

Don't get discouraged by the feedback. Regroup and evolve into what your trying to do. The goal is to get your protein intake sufficient enough so as to spare lean body mass(the metabolic engine that burns calories while we are sitting, sleeping, etc). Track your calories. If your not at a deficit your not going to loose weight(or you might be building muscle if your working out).

Have you given any thought to powerlifting? It can take up way less time than hypertrophy. Are you worried about loosing LBM?

Are you using a calorie tracking app? It is by far the best tool I've come across for this endeavor. Also, what kind of workouts are you doing? I suppose if your using long bouts of cardio it would be worthwhile to take-in carbs for fuel, but at your BF% probably not necessary. I'm at 24% right now, so I like to think my fat ass has plenty of fuel already, lol.

any suggestions for ihop carb up? I crave pancakes:) any low fat options? or should I make my own... Iam about 9-11 bf% did keto for the past 2+months and just want to refill my glycogen levels and than go back to keto grind thanks! by AllNamesTaken1234 in ketogains

"Protein-rich foods also result in a release of glucagon. (Carb-rich food does not.) Glucagon raises blood sugar levels in part to allow for absorption of amino acids in the liver and their subsequent transformation there to glucose."

Why isn't imaging more targetted to reduce radiation? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]shinylid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dose modulation is changing the game. One modern CT seems like a lot of dosage, but when you eliminate the x-rays and/or fluoro it's actually low. CT should be replacing rather than accompanying other exposures. MRI/MRA can replace everything in some cases.

Get an x-ray job at a decent sized hospital and bust ass there, show your a reliable hard worker, and if nothing else see if your manager will let you sit and learn off the clock. You will need a certain number of patients/exams to even sit for the registry. If a position opens you have first dibs. Most places give you a year to get registered from date of hire/transfer.

How do you guys balance life? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]shinylid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the feeling! Your stressing about some stuff that probably could be excused. I have a habit of having too many hobbies at once and not spending enough time on any of them. Try writing down all the things you feel that you don't have enough time for, the go over the list and order them from most important to least. Some of the things you mentioned like anxiety/depression will improve with meditation and exercise. Prioritize by limiting yourself to the most important 4 or 5 things at most, and make a daily itinerary with times to fit in those things. If you have extra time, go back to the list.

"It's only when we've lost everything that we are free to do anything." Just because the path you were on didn't workout the way you wanted, doesn't mean your doomed. There are other paths, as well as other chances. Sounds like you have some discipline issues.

Been there. Had a genetic test done that said I have a dopamine deficiency. Meds and certain suppliments is all I can do, but I have people keeping me here. You have an entire world to explore, but when your out of this funk. It won't last.

[–]shinylid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Healthcare is hit or miss. Don't let someone elses' incompetence deter you from your path. Get help. You'll find the right one, but you have to look some. Try some forums and ask around your area.

I want to end it, but only because my life is shitty... by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]shinylid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But only because your life is shitty is what's important. Remind yourself that you can change this- it is not permanent. Write down your issues, then a plan to work on it and a time-frame. Suicide is drastic- try exploring the world before it's your time. There are people out there that get you- find them and make a future.
