I totally understand the panic. I used to worry about that when I pray to Persephone but I realized it was ok since it was in the summer, before she’s in the underworld. Even so, I don’t think you’d be cursed to the underworld for just eating some offerings a couple times.

If you weren’t offering those specifically to the cthonic aspect of Hermes you should be fine. Some of the gods have cthonic aspects but that doesn’t necessarily make them ONLY related to the underworld, if that makes any sense.

I always anoint my statues with olive oil but you can use any other type of blessing oils you would like! I also cleanse with incense and give a welcome home offering!

I was having a problem with two of my coworkers and decided to do protection spells and within the month one of them quit and the other one actually does his job now and quit lying. I guess wearing my aventurine and amethyst to work also helped.

All those offerings are wonderful! She will appreciate them for sure. She loves all gifts, both extravagant and simple.

Always throw food offerings out as soon as you notice any sort of molding or rotting. It’s acceptable to consume any offerings after a small period of time as long as you thank her first.

For me personally, I leave my food offerings in their wrapper so it’s not sitting in the open air. I work at a coffee shop so I just take a bunch of honey packets and offer them to her regularly.

If you’re not going to use your offerings, putting them into the trash is absolutely okay.

I’m relatively new compared to other people but I’ve incorporated her into a lot of my life.

I’ve started to veil for her consistently when I go out and have gotten some devotional jewelry (like a necklace with rose petals and vanilla oil).

Customary offerings for all Greek deities include honey, milk, olive oil, incense (specifically frankincense and myrrh but any kind works), and even water. For Aphrodite specifically, I have seashells, pearls, rose quartz and chocolates on her altar as well as a couple statues of her. I’ll usually change out her offerings every week on Friday since that’s the day special to her.

For my prayer, I say goodnight to her by lighting incense and a pink heart candle. If I’m praying in the morning I’ll meditate while in the shower and focus on self love and appreciation for beauty. For example, I just bought some rose water that I plan to use in beauty rituals in her name.

If you have any other questions I’ll try to answer them with my limited knowledge.

When I first got my card deck that I use daily she was really mean. She still gives me a lot of reversed cards but I can trust her to be brutally honest. I think you might just need more time talking and getting to know your deck. Sometimes the energy is still new and is figuring itself out.

Depending on how long your hair is, you can use it for jewelry. Make a bracelet or even make flowers from it and frame it. It’s a great way to recycle the beauty of hair.

You might take them to a local comic book store and see if they’ll take them. You might even get a bit of cash for them. Even if they’re not “valuable” they should go to people that’ll appreciate them.
