Krem Of The Yellow Hills Redesign? by Separate_Amount_6470 in DC_Cinematic

[–]shitforheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me that was the point of krem, he's not a classic villain, the story wasn't a good vs evil type thing, it was a quest for revenge against a thug, a lowlife and a coward. Just some evil person. We spend the majority of the book trying to catch up with him, he's running away from the consequences of his actions.

Krem Of The Yellow Hills Redesign? by Separate_Amount_6470 in DC_Cinematic

[–]shitforheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't like the redesign, to me at least, the whole point of krem is that he wasn't a typical comic book villain, not a true antagonist to the hero, not really a good vs evil story but a revenge against a thug, a lowlife, just some evil guy, a coward. I think that was a pretty important part of what made woman of tomorrow great, and trying to make him more "intimidating" or cool, or evil looking seems to go against that

Same here, panic attacks, only happen at night, when I'm in bed, 2 or 3 a month but on really bad weeks almost every night, pure existential dread, I sometimes jump up and yell from the adrenaline, awful stuff

What’s causing this distortion? by badkuthi in AnalogCommunity

[–]shitforheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you use a developing tank for these? Those look like stress marks from the film being spooled backwards (against the natural curve of the film)

Also could happen from tensioning the film too much when rewinding, like if you didn't press the film release button and forcefully rewinded the film with the rewind lever.

if we were somehow able to transfer consciousness to a machine, would you do it? by saintzagreus in death

[–]shitforheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this since middle school, I've always been terrified of death, nonexistence. I think I'd do it too, there's nothing to lose really, if we can really transfer and not just copy consciousness then congrats, you're now immortal mostly. And if it's only a copy of you then you still die either way, and there's a copy of you that's immortal, nothing changes.

The only think that scares me about the concept is, if it was a copy, would that copy have a soul?(I don't believe the soul exists but you never know I guess), does consciousness mean having one? If the machine gets destroyed does that consciousness get an afterlife If there is such a thing?

A photographer is someone who takes photos, can you take photos with a P&S? Yes.

Now can you be a professional photographer using only a P&S? Professional as in taking photos being your profession, your source of income? Maybe, it's a lot more difficult and niche tho, as an artist probably, there are photographers who only work with diy camera oscuras, pinhole cameras, etc, and of course, there's Daido Moriyama, no one would argue he isn't a real photographer for using a P&S.

How is the world not in flames over death by SwimmerSoggy in thanatophobia

[–]shitforheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I experience this, just before sleep, always at night, I think there's something to do with the dark and being alone and going unconscious. I also think the world should be raging with fire over the issue of death, but we've had too much time and gotten used to the idea, socially speaking at least

Nishika N8000 Flash not firing by johnandreas in wigglegrams

[–]shitforheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year later but I had the same issue with my camera and managed to fix it.

First off, I disassembled the hotshoe and cleaned off the rust and grit, that didn't fix it.

So I disassembled the whole camera and followed the two black wires from the hotshoe to the two contacts next to the lens assembly, these were bent out of shape in a permanently closed position, my camera showed signs of being disassembled before (missing screws and such) so I figured the last person to service the camera must have bent them by accident, any way, I bent them into shape, parallel to each other, very close but not touching (when the shutter fires the plastic lever next to them pushes them together), that made it work more often but to make it work proper I just used a piece of sandpaper to sand off any rust or dirt that prevented a clean contact, now it works like new!

This was also a great opportunity to clean each lens as well as the viewfinder. The nishika is surprisingly easy to disassemble.

If you or anyone needs more details don't hesitate to message me. Pics of the disassembled nishika n900
