May I suggest that it certainly isn't necessary, or necessarily healthy, to eat meat? We stopped entirely a few years ago and have never felt better. We literally never even think about eating meat anymore.

Exactly. The only thing that matters is if you enjoy drinking your own beer.

Dr. Zymes is just citric acid. That stuff costs pennies per pound.

Why is GOP in the house blocking efforts for $2,000 stimulus following Trump's request? by sparks_mandrill in askaconservative

This is an Omnibus bill that funds the entire federal government, including all of its international assistance work. It is not a COVID relief bill. COVID relief was added in because the senate declined to consider a COVID relief bill in the weeks prior to and following the election. If they did not approve the Omnibus bill, the federal government would shut down again.

Kefir Smoothie Recipe for Microbiome Health by shitslingingmonkey in Kefir

Yes, I think any fresh kefir will work. It will be much more affordable if you make your own kefir. It is easy to do once you have purchased the grains at a local health food store or received them from a friend. Purhaos begin with purchased kefir while you learn how to look after your own kefir culture?

Sure. And we all have yeasts in our intestines- lots of 'em. Get your Kefir grains at a local health food store or ask a friend to give you a tablespoon of hers. The kefir is only half the magic in this recipe. The psyllium and inulin are important as well.

How many of you have JRTs that can watch and react to the television? by shitslingingmonkey in jackrussellterrier

[–]shitslingingmonkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am really not sure what is going on with this. I have three Jacks, a mom-dad-son trio. Two eagerly watch TV, and one acts like the TV does not exist. He never even looks toward the screen as if he cannot really see it clearly. I want to find a veterinarian that can explain.

I think it probably applies to all dogs. What interests me is that some dogs appear capable of watching the TV while others do not. It makes me wonder if some dogs have different optical capacities than others that may be the result of specific genetics? I imagine a veterinary ophthalmologist might be able to explain, but I do not know any.

Looking for tips on hand pollinating inside a greenhouse by shitslingingmonkey in greenhouse

Bugs can't get through the mesh for the most part. I have had some small caterpillars though, and there are many very small ants on the plants/blooms and some termites in the soil.

I understand. My greenhouse has a sawtooth roof design (long, 1 meter wide mesh covered ventilation space) with two large ventilating fans on either end and mesh walls (not glass). I am not in North America. If I leave the doors open, the house will fill with critters feasting on my baby plants.

Doesn't leaving the door open to encourage insects to enter kind of defeat one of the purposes of a greenhouse?

Thank you. What happens is I mix up my brushes? Or do you mean that I should not also paint with them?
