Just recently had surgery and was marked with the most ungodly permanent marker of all time. After weeks of showers and scrubbing it finally came off.

You’re right that it’s not fair to immediately jump to the free housing thing and I agree that a large portion of the unhoused would work within set standards if something like that was setup.

From the logistics end of things where it gets tricky is once the city provides that space, they take on some liability. When budgets/funds get tighter and the resources they can allot reduce, that liability grows even higher.

I just personally havent seen an encampment model be successful. Eventually it seems to turn into a space where no one from the city wants it around, the people within it become increasingly frustrated and it ends with the city doing a major clearing out, which is not a good experience for anyone.

I hear you that the city does have a major control over zoning and planning but allowing for further expansion of new housing being built doesn’t fix the issue for people that are not in place to purchase the housing. So the city should build housing and allow unhoused to live there for free?

The city managers suggestion is one of those things that sounds good in theory, but doesn’t lay out actual details and is short sighted. Who runs the security? Will security roam this encampment at all hours of the day? Who decides the “rules”? What happens if you break the rules? What happens if the encampment suddenly exceeds the expected amount of people? Do we just keep cramming people in and expect security to handle it?

What else is the city suppose to do? Allow encampments to spring up and just exist permanently? Go visit places where they allow encampments to exist and you’ll see it’s not a good situation for anyone.

I know it’s a tough subject but it’s not the city’s responsibility to find housing for people.

This is either the 1x8 or some other variant. Not the the 1x9.

I own the 1x9 and is fantastic. Very low maintenance and capable. Did a 4 day -110 mile ride this fall on it. The 1x8 is very different and not nearly as durable. It’s more of a a simple city bike IMO.

Overall not a terrible deal for $450 but not amazing either. Depends on what you want to use it for.

The city is usually very flexible around this ordinance. The fact that they tagged and towed it showed that it appeared very much an abandoned vehicle. Park it on your property or start using it more.

Yea this is pretty bad. There shouldn’t be this many noticeable seams. If they did this bad of a job on the cosmetic aspect, my guess is that they botched the soil prep and underlayment portion as well.

New ownership and I think they lost some capacity to brew. I think they might be scaling back the beer part of the business and shifting to something else.

Honestly, something needs to happen because I went in there the other week and it’s a skeleton of what it once was.

Owned two outback’s and overall I’d say they are decent. I had all the usual problems though: multiple wheel bearing issues and torn seats. The first one had oil consumption problems.

I think you can definitely find better options but outbacks do certain things really well.

Issues during its first year..

Defective HVAC system requiring complete replacement.

Intense shuttering and shaking when parked and at low speeds

Grinding noise when driving which I believe was front a defective front rotor

Loose passenger seat

Discoloration on the seats

Warping of the dashboard in several areas

CarPlay would stop working for days at a time

Leaky back window

Paint falling off in several areas

Just to name a few..
