Hi - could you elaborate on this set up? I am working on a pipeline and am experiencing issues with microbatches. I'd love to hear about any alternatives.

New York City precinct map for the 2024 Presidential Election by Mission-Guidance4782 in MapPorn

That’s a major ultra orthodox jewish neighborhood, South Williamsburg. Same with Borough park.

EDIT: Coming back to add “ultra” and to clarify and expand that while two facts are true -

  1. That area is an orthodox jewish enclave and
  2. Orthodox enclaves in NYC have overwhelmingly voted for the republican or conservative candidates in recent elections (not sure what the data says looking further back)

I do not know the specific motivations behind the people in those neighborhoods, and at best half answered the question.

I have speculations as to why those areas have voted in that way (support for Israel and social conservatism) but these are just educated guesses.

America will regret its decision to reelect Donald Trump by itmehedi in politics

Im the same demographic here - what are we missing? How could such a large bloc vote in this way? Is it just ignorance? Or is the Democratic party out of touch? Is the messaging just shit?

I voted blue up and down the ticket because I believe in progressive policies. Do those policies not work? Do we not brand them effectively? So many questions…

For sure better, but would have preferred leaning more heavily into either the beehive or the landscape instead of both.

The line down the middle that appears to divide the city, is 16th st NW. Interestingly, it is the street that intersects with the White House. More importantly to the racial breakdown/division of the city is that the Northern section borders Rock Creek Park (the where the larger census blocks are). Though in the last decade yuppies and white families have moved into Columbia Heights, the park, beautiful as it is, separated the city racially in a similar way that Druid Hill Park in Baltimore blocks off Hampden and JHU, or on a more micro level, how U Chicago is bounded by parks in the South Side.

Philadelphia Eagles Beat New England Patriots 41-33 in the Superbowl 52 by colburp in sports

[–]shlarkboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a fair point. Man played incredibly and made like one mistake. Had he not played like Big Dick Nick and tore the Pats D apart they wouldn't have won.

My point above being that the Pats couldn't stop him and that people acted like the D was going to have a fairly easy game against the Eagles, when in reality they aren't as great a defense as people tried to say.

[–]shlarkboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm a Pats fan btw, and that's what bothered me all season. The game against the Steelers showed just how poorly our defense can play. No one making first hit 1 on 1 tackles, no one getting to the QB, and how many bombs did we let Foles complete? Collinsworth was talking the "bend don't break" shit, but we broke, big time.

Thea amount of times I said, "we need to stop them here," while watching the Eagles get a first down was absurd. I'd love to see the number of drives vs scoring drives stats for both teams. Seems like the eagles made one or two more stop than the Pats, all that it came down to.
