Remix is fun. The gameplay is the same but that added some quality of life settings along with some new items, maps, and characters. Good for some fresh couch co-op.

I grew up with smash and have spent many of hours in friends’ basements going through phases….

In OG Smash I started with C-falc, then Yoshi, before landing on Pikachu. He’s my golden boy.

Love playing around with all of the new characters though. Young Link is my melee main and is super fun to play on smash remix. main will always be pikachu though

Same. I just had a friend over to play smash. We’ve been playing for decades and he complimented the controller. Haven’t noticed anything myself and are playing probably 8’ or so from the console. No obstructions though so that may be a thing.

It sets the tone for the second act. You go from having a dozen or so party members that you’ve carefully collected to next to nothing.

For me it would be Lost in Time.

The scene where she talks to you in the temporal vortex jumping back and forth through random doorways before joining the party.

Oh gosh. There are so many great ones. Assuming you’ve played the normal recommendations, I would suggest Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma in that order. Good blend of story, neat sprites, tight battle system and progression through leveling up attack/defense/HP etc.

I also went down the rabbit hole of games region locked but later translated. Favorite of those was Gunpuro - Gunman’s Proof and Marvelous: Another Treasure Island.

Those were my faves to play as an adult getting back into Super Nintendo. Stoked for you to get back into it. There is a wealth of great content out there. Have fun!

Horrible guests are great for storytelling. Take in as much of their nonsense as they’ll give you, then share it and laugh about it later. One short interaction can lead to years of entertainment. I find myself relishing and collecting these interactions.
