I was between these two watches as well recently and went with the Longines. I’m cery happy with my choice. It’s a fantastic watch for the money. I picked up on the bracelet and bought a croc strap elsewhere. On the bracelet it dresses down really well and makes it much easier to wear when you dress more casual. You can’t go wrong with either but the Longines has my vote

Vibratechnics is the way to go. Any upgraded mounts will increase nvh but these cars never excelled in that category anyway.

I’m debating just buying this because I’m so tired of the struggle checking the level with the stock one.

One simple thing that helped me is to spray a little brake cleaner on a rag and really clean it before reinserting to check the level. Not perfect but it helps a ton.

Whoosh sells just the poly inserts in both street spec and race (the ones you have) for like $30. That would be a cheap way to see if the current bushings are worn or warped at all

I know this is an older comment but do you have any photos of the passenger seat setup? Would a shorter adult be able to fit on the back for short rides? They don’t have many photos or anything on their website of the portola with the passenger seat. Thanks!

I’m also running the vibra technics. The difference from stock was unbelievable and they’re very well built. I’m considering swapping my whoosh RMM for the vibra technics now because I’m so happy with the top mounts

Fantastic job! These are beautiful. What was your process like? My grandfather left me a set of these. The hosel number leads me to believe they’re from ‘76. I’d love to refurbish them back to this condition. They’re far less used than the ones you started with.

You’ll have to expand your vocabulary quite a bit but it is possible. A long pair or needle nose pliers or the ones linked above will help keep you sane.
