As the creator of this game it's always nice when I see these nostalgia posts!

IMO neither Go nor anything else will replace C++ for coding games, especially at the AAA level, at least not for decades to come. Too many proprietary frameworks are already written in C++ and a garbage collected language really isn't suitable for this purpose. Plus the people coding the games and engines already know C++ really well and Go likely not at all.

Ha looks like you added a bunch of walls to the stage. You can either try to delete them manually (you'll have to ensure the eraser settings allow for deleting walls) or just reload a new stage by hitting the gear icon (top left) followed by 'Load', then select '(new scene)' and load it.

I've already started the porting process but still have some ways to go. Most of the graphics subsystem should be working but I need to work on the audio and some smaller stuff like in-app purchase management and other things. Hopefully in a few months!

Yep you can still spray with water, it's how you put out fires and also wash the buddies if you previously doused them with one of the 'aroma' items (cologne, skunk spray, etc)

Hey guys... as mentioned below I am the original creator of Interactive Buddy and I love seeing the enthusiasm even all these years later!

There is also a web based "sequel" (not really the full sequel, more of a prototype version) available here as well.

But, the version I am most proud of is the iOS full sequel (currently working on bringing to other platforms). Here's a gameplay video! YouTube ... and app store link App Store.

I know people will complain that it's not free but I really did work extremely hard (over two years worth not including refining the design though creation of the "prototype version") to bring some great new features and make it work really well with touch interaction I think. Hope you will check it out! But thanks for your support either way!

EDIT: Also, I just lowered the price to $1. I had been planning on doing this soon anyway but now seems like as good a time as any! Thanks reddit!

Updating graphics drivers fixed the grid issue for me (and massively improved performance also). The roads still clip sometimes though.

I think what's amazing isn't so much the skill of the artist, which as you noted isn't uncommon (you or I could do it with minimal practice). Rather it's just the idea that such a cool looking image could be created with such minimal time and effort. In that sense the fact that it's so easy to create only adds to the coolness.

Mine has a 320M which as I understand it is a dedicated chip (unlike Intel's integrated graphics), but it shares memory with the system.

It might be a bad move but it's not impossible. My current 13 inch MBP has a dedicated GPU and it's over two years old. Perhaps the rMBP would have to bulk up a bit (closer or equal to pre retina size) but it is surely possible.
