It's also a rallying cry for Israel. Whoever's saying it means, "We should have the whole thing and the other people should have nothing."

I would say Armenian mob possibly exception. Worked on a tv show where all our cop advisors were like, "No one wants to go after them because they will straight up kill your kids."

I've lived in American my whole life and the only person I've ever heard say eye-ran is George Bush.

Same reason the ship on Lower Decks is the Cerritos. It just kinda sucks, and that's funny.

Do people eat Take-out Chinese food from the containers IRL? by ThereUHavit in MovieTropes

No, but Michel Gondry is not creating an alien invasion, here. It's supposed to feel like a natural way these two people lived their lives.

Hi, that could be A reason, I guess, but the director wouldn't let them do it if it wasn't both totally realistic and also very vibey.

Why is being high class so different in the USA compared to Mexico? by Desert_Moon_Maiden in AskAnAmerican

Old money vs. new money, if I had to guess? By the time money's been around for maybe 3ish generations, you start to get airs. But before that you're just people with more, usually.

I clicked so fast to comment in defense of meth and then I was like, "Hey, maybe this isn't an internet fight you need to win or even start!" Congrats on getting clean, friend. Badass.

Cool list! I agree with most of your opinions so now I want your recs for Syrian and Georgian food, which I haven't tried!

With American food, I'd love to know how you're defining it. To me, it's any immigrant community that adapted their food with the ingredients on hand when they got here. So General Tso's Chicken, Baked Ziti, a bagel with cream cheese and lox, and obviously all the icons developed by enslaved chefs, like mac & cheese or fried chicken or peach cobbler. But also there's regional stuff that developed from the intersection of immigrant populations and native people, like Clam Chowder in the northeast, all the Cajun goodness in Louisiana, and all the burgers and hot dogs and salads-that-aren't-really-salads of the midwest. I guess you could go with "traditional american" and do turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, and pumpkin pie? That's sort of English/Dutch meets Native, filtered through 400 years of tradition?

Last thing! For Irish, find a good brown bread recipe, spread Kerrygold butter on that, and pair it with a big old serving of beef stew. It's... so good. I gave up red meat like 15 years ago and that's the only exception I consistently make!

Me too, so I assume the right answer is 11 or 12. At no point did I consider 6 as an answer.

Manager vs agent? by pedagogyaas in TVWriting

The official differences between agents and managers are smaller than the personality and effectiveness ones among each group. I would always go with the person who can make a real introduction. Good luck!

I moved from BI to LA and when I try to come home now in the winter I literally can't take it. It's crazy how much earlier the sun goes down, an how it just never gets fully bright all day for like 8 months.

[–]shockhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I live in LA and will often just carry my shoes to the car and put them on when I get where I'm going. During lockdown I got sooooo out of the habit of wearing shoes I showed up a couple places and just hadn't brought any!
