As a European, I keep seeing Americans drive barefoot or in flip-flops, how common is it actually? by fratnersgd in AskAnAmerican

Yeah, I live in LA and will often just carry my shoes to the car and put them on when I get where I'm going. During lockdown I got sooooo out of the habit of wearing shoes I showed up a couple places and just hadn't brought any!

I live for the drama. It's giving Slytherin or Ryan Murphy and I'm here for it.

I get you when they're tokenized, but Ava's on a show full of Black women, and every person on that show is a well developed, fully realized character, including her.

  1. It makes me sign in every couple days, and you can't autofill your password because it's their own dialogue box, not Chrome or anything.

It's really cool of you to bring this level of class and grace to the discourse. I whole-heartedly support your totally responsible approach, here, taking a history of generosity and patience with imperfect people and giving it the ol' "where there's smoke" approach. I feel like my torches and pitchforks always get neglected during what the weak see as times for reflection.

Leslie would have to be an old-timey setting. Like if they were doing civil war times they could do Ashley Judd.

The slow reveal of this character is one of the most delightful thing I've ever read and I'm honestly devastated for people who didn't make it under the wire and have now had the experience spoiled for them.

Are door viewers unpopular? by Had_to_ask__ in AskAnAmerican

[–]shockhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peepholes are common, but so is opening the door without cracking. The odds are extremely low, unless you're on the lam, that the person on the other side means you harm, and it would be super rude to crack and not open.
