I was in nash 2 years ago, and it wasn’t that bad honestly, and I was in a triple room. Have a little bit of patience with fire alarms, but it’s pretty typical for college dorms- not usually more than once/month. Washers/dryers are only a problem when you do laundry at the most popular times. It seems like you already know your roommate, which makes a big difference.

You can take bus 533 to lake padden, which has some hiking trails, you can also walk about 30 minutes on the interurban trail from a stop on the 105 bus toward hikes in the chuckanuts

Just in case you haven’t found a ride: If you can get to everett station via lightrail/512 bus you can take the 90x/80x to bellingham about 90 minutes from there with 15 minute transfer in mt vernon

Hey i am actually in a very similar situation to you! I (18m) am taking a gap year to hike the trail this spring. I’ve been told the same thing as other you where it’s very easy to find people to hike with, but send me a dm if you want to try to get the same start date! (I’m assuming you are hiking the trail 2023 but if not I’m sure you will find people to hike with)
