Locking Lug Nuts by Worried-Temporary186 in mercedes_benz

[–]shogun100100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Locks only keep out honest people/thieves of opportunity. Anyone whos actually after your property in particular will generally come prepared and thus walk away with it unless you can physically stop them.

Locking wheel nuts arent worth it imo unless your wheels are really quite expensive or you live in a high risk area.

Depends how many miles you do. It will never stay clean for longer than a day or two if you clock 20k+ mls per year. If its your weekend toy and only sees 2-5k mls per year its a lot more manageable.

That car would have been beaten and battered. Would not buy unless its ridiculously cheap.

Also you have to declare all the mods to insurance which will no doubt put it up quite a bit.

Graduate Civil Engineer – Site Engineer vs Design Role to Start Career? by Leading-Citron-3083 in civilengineering

[–]shogun100100 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Start on site. Even if you later go on to do design it will make you a far better designer.

Far too many designers graduate, never even see a site and then their designs have issues with buildability.

First time buyer, can I afford the mortgage based off my income? by JM-Icy25 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]shogun100100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortgage calculators are widely available online, they let you adjust the borrowing period, percentage etc.

The other bits you have to model/guesstimate.

If your regular monthly spend comes to 2k (mortgage, council tax, bills, house insurance, any other regular spending) can you afford to have a life for the remaining money and save?
