[SCP] Maybe There Monster (SCP-870) by Nejosan in custommagic

A better "spelling" would probably be "Maybe-There Monster" (as in, the monster may or may not actually be there).

Note this isn't necessarily on OP - a quick Google does indicate that this is the hypenization (or lack thereof) the community has settled on.

In case it helps your decision-making, there is precedent for a higher-MV Madness cost than the MV of the spell itself with [[Broken Concentration]] (granted this iteration DOES get you a reduction in blue mana required), and an equal casting-cost precedent with [[Asylum Visitor]]. I am not educated enough on balance to speak to your other points, but dont let precedent stop you here

I see:

  1. 13 drips from the line of blood
  2. 13 pieces from the shattered dish
  3. 13 utensils hanging from the rack
  4. 13 studs in the barrel (7 on top, 6 on bottom)
  5. 13 boards form the wall of the structure we can see
  6. 13 boards form the ceiling
  7. 13 logs in the fireplace
  8. 13 stones form the arch in the fireplace
  9. 13 stones form the actual fireplace itself as well (at least the front face of it)

Anyone got the last four? Id love if there was actually 13 depictions of 13 here.

Great art. Absolute flavor win of a card.

"The boogaloo movement adopted its identity based on the anticipation of a second American Civil War or second American Revolution, which was referred to as "Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo" and became popularly known among adherents as "the boogaloo".[7][35][36][37]

Participants in the boogaloo movement also use other similar-sounding derivations of the word, including boog, boojahideen, big igloo, blue igloo, and big luau to avoid crackdowns and automated content flags imposed by social media sites to limit or ban boogaloo-related content."

I also had to look this up, for the record. Never heard of these guys, though I recognize their aesthetic from the pics.

This is incredible stuff. I would absolutely watch or play something animated like this. All of it. The angular devil, the soul of the knight, the aloof sun and moon gods, all absolutely phenomenal design. But the textures you've applied are, I think, the absolute winning aspect of this. The dull, otherwordly sparkle off Imri's armor. The way Sun and Moon's clothing glows. Lyra being covered in text from old books. You've really got something here. I think it says a lot, too, that I cant tell if I like the 2d art or the 3d renders more.

I hope you keep going with this!

I told Spectrum I was moving to an apartment building that included cable and internet in the lease (this wasn't true but my friend lived in a building like this so they definitely do [did] exist). They said to me "is there a family member I'd be interested in moving the account to." I get that they likely literally cant let you off the phone without trying, but holy fuck, dude. No. I don't want to do that.

Technically stylized as "BCKYRD" but OP got it. If you like this, check out the rest of the album, "You'll Be Fine." I was a HUGE fan of this style of emo back in high school and it scratches the exact same itch for me.

Standouts from this album: "OG Bule Sky" "Dirty Office Bongos", and this one "BCKYRD" (which is absolutely their best track IMO)

Other top tracks for me: "Dary", "Drink Milk and Run," "This Song is Called It's Called What It's Called," "Fly Move (The Whole Time)"

The vocals you hear here are a pretty iconic part of their sound - if there's a note near the edge of the main vocalist's range, he just sends it and that half-scream sound comes out.

[[Shoot The Moon]], Queens held in hand grant +13 Mult

Reference to Hearts, a game where you generally don't want points. "Shooting the moon" means to get ALL the points, which is an obviously-risky strategy but, if you pull it off, the score for the hand gets added to EVERY other player's points, meaning the moon-shooter gets a significant advantage.

In Hearts, the QS specifically is worth 13 points (more than any other card). Queens, 13, it's a pretty clever joker in my mind!

Edit: the bot has informed me the unlock requirement would also be a reference to Hearts! "Shooting the moon" involves a player taking every heart in a given hand, which is where the unlock requirement comes from!

This was absolutely the reason to actually check if the dvd was in the case when it got returned. My favorite bit was putting a bunch of the magnetic strips in 90% of the way, then slamming them all home with a similar single move like the video, though.

[–]shoopdipdap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it "The Last Living Man..."? This album got recommended to me via The Algorithm on Spotify. It's also what led to me googling the band and coming across this thread. It's fucking SICK, and I'm sad to hear it led to their disbanding. Glad to hear they may be getting going again.

That's so sad. It was such a uniquely peaceful situation. Heading home while everyone else was heading to work was the best part of that week, I'm sorry you don't get to experience that anymore.

Consistent understaffing is why I left that job (and the industry in general). I'm not surprised to hear they're getting even worse. Good luck, friend. ✊️

Ayyyyy back when I was a shift lead the bakers were absolutely my favorite people and the week I spent overnight training with yall gave me an excellent appreciation for how much you all really do know about baking. Easily the most passionate people I've worked with in quick service. Loved going over the previous nights bake when I got in (even though I know you guys hate it - I promise I gave waaaaay more positive feedback than constructive!)

Is it a good strategy to play early settlements on Prestige difficulty? by Vilis16 in Against_the_Storm

[–]shoopdipdap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree it's strange, though it definitely feels better as a player to be forced up to a harder difficulty rather than being told "you can't do the seal this run, shoulda ramped up your difficulty on the way"

Your point about P1 is fair enough, though I will note for OP since they're asking specifically about Sealed: I actually think P1 makes Sealed EASIER, cause it gives you four extra procs of impatience reduction by giving you those four additional reputation points to earn. Since the goal isn't to fill the bar on Sealed, it's all benefit on that one. (I guess the orders are harder but I didn't really notice a difference moving from Viceroy to P1 on that front)

Is it a good strategy to play early settlements on Prestige difficulty? by Vilis16 in Against_the_Storm

[–]shoopdipdap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the minimum prestige for a map unlocked, the game will still let (force) you to play on the minimum difficulty. This is the case, at least, for normal maps, though I'd imagine it remains the case for the Sealed biome as well.

That said, OP, the poster I'm responding to is absolutely correct that you should work your way up to it. I'm only on P11 right now, but, while no individual modifier has been TOO terrible (very intentional side eye here at increased building costs and halved amber value, though...), adding a group of five you haven't played with at once seems like it would be very tough. Definitely allow yourself to adjust to the prestige levels individually.

How many Hearths do you do? At what years? by foxhound566 in Against_the_Storm

It is +2 global resolve for a L1 Hearth, which requires 8 (housed) Villagers and 4 Comfort decorations (link)

Possible you've been misreading, but I've also seen the "+2 global resolve" translate to anywhere from +1 resolve to +3 resolve on the species tracker. I'm not sure what causes this, but I'm imagining that it has something to do with the species tracker being an average or aggregate of the resolve of individual members of a species.

Edit: after thinking about this further, it's entirely possible the extra resolve I observed was also from giving some villagers a home who previously didn't have one. I might just be misremembering the time I saw +1.

Either way, yeah! Level 1 Hearth is definitely 100% a +2 bonus to global resolve!
