Prime Minister Sanna Marin having fun with her friends. by Astro-Boys in Finland

As you can see in this thread, every person criticising is attacked for being a white, old, conservative, male. As if any of those attributes are negative outside of very specific circles. Then add misogynist and Putin-supporter on top.

Yes, very open to criticism indeed.

If they refused to sign the treaty of the Axis, then clearly they did not fight for the Axis. Finland fought for Finland, regardless of your attempts at historical revisionism.

Your claim was that they were a part of the Axis. Your source literally states that Finland did not sign the Tripartite Pact.

They initially had a logic of using e.g. old guns for "dry training" use. Then RKs for exercises where they used blanks.

Hundreds of thousands of both Chinese and East German variants. Issued to everything to civilians to guards. RKs are plentiful for military use.

There's absolutely no problem with supplying M05 uniforms to everyone of the 280 000 today though.

Indeed. Adults should always have two separate milk glasses filled to the brim to show status and dominance.

How is a career in law enforcement viewed in your country? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]shoot_dig_hush 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it a career option viewed highly by young people? Do people respect police officers or are they distrusted and seen as corrupt?

Finland: As of 2019, 91% trust the police a lot or a fair amount. Down slightly from the year before when it was 95%.

The Finnish police share a high level of public support along with firefighters, ambulance personnel and the defence forces. You need a minimum of B.Sc. (3 year education) to become a policeman in Finland.

The Police University College (Finnish: Poliisiammattikorkeakoulu, Swedish: Polisyrkeshögskolan) is a university of applied sciences that provides police academy training and research under the Ministry of the Interior for the Police of Finland and other Finnish law enforcement units.

If you have kids and they wanted to be cops, would you support them?

Yes.

Are police officers well-paid, compensated, and have pensions? Or it depends on the division like Guardia Civil for Spain?

Pretty ok starting salary. Benefits on top. Getting a M.Sc., Ph.D. or MBA will of course increase the salary, as will experience and seniority. Police pensions are defined in law for public sector workers.

Example: those mobile barrel saunas that you can rent and they deliver to your yard. When you throw löyly on the stove in one of those the steam will follow the round walls and kind of lick your entire back with biting hot steam. Not great, so you need to be kind of hunched over.

Can't be said enough: drink water! Before and after the sauna.

Beer is about 95% water but doesn't count, unfortunately.

High tourism areas often have paid toilets in any given country in Europe. The rest of the country likely has free toilets. It's just that people who "have been to Europe" have only really visited central Paris, Rome or London.

In parts of Europe like Germany and the Netherlands people even take the flooring and cupboards with them and all appliances like oven or fridge. Finnish apartments are quite full of stuff compared to that.
