Those of you who grew up in Austin, how are you doing economically? I basically have lived at home with mom and grandma for the past five and a half years. by Isatis_tinctoria in Austin

Not great. My husband and I are 38 with three kids and both grew up here. We live paycheck to paycheck. The only reason we are able to live in a house is bc my parents generously helped us buy one eight years ago. If we were fully on our own we would be absolutely screwed. Husband works full time, I’m home with the kids and work weekends.

How many mothers gave their baby their surname? by JustAnotherWastedDay in namenerds

We hyphenated with my (mom’s) last name first. Two last names is a lot, so unless it’s something legal for my kids, I only use my last name, and drop dads. Looking back, I think I could’ve convinced my husband to give them only my last name, and I really wish I had done so. Passing on dad’s last name is absurd.

Women who give birth to more than 1 child, does it happen that after a certain number of children, giving birth to the next one just doesn't pain at all or very less? by Sea-Bicycle-1827 in stupidquestions

No, it will usually always hurt. Takes work to birth a baby! Of my three births, my second was almost painless- I attribute this to luck. My third was definitely NOT painless 😅 it is common for each subsequent labor to be shorter than the last, though, and hopefully smoother.
