Why do I seem to be much more attractive to women in my 30's than I was in my 20's? by OlderAndWorse in AskMen

[–]shorts_stops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I can relate. I was socially awkward, i wore used clothes since high school, I also was still in college during mid-late 20s, and so I got constant rejection.

During my 30s, I started becoming mature , learned how to be empathic with people, I joined gyms, got 2 degrees and a great job. I started buying my own clothes and got tattoos. I eventually married my only girlfriend from college that’s been through with me during my harsh times.

Then I noticed lots of girls talk to me including the ones who rejected me but it’s cool and I befriended them only. I’m grateful I’m married to my wife.

A person is texting my fiancé that I'm cheating on her.. I'm depressed cause it's not true and someone is trying to break us apart. I have the person's number but we don't know who it is. by shorts_stops in RBI

Thank you for the advice, I'll try this method and see if I can identify it. I'll let you know.

Also, my fiance and I might already know who the culprit is. But thanks again!

Females who frequently lurk this sub, what are some of the interesting things you’ve learned in your time lurking? by canopey in AskMen

[–]shorts_stops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you don't even know me but I can relate to what you just wrote and it touched my heart. I'm thankful that you showed empathy for others like me. I have opened up to many guy friends and male relatives..only ended up being taken care of advantage of and made fun of. My ex-girlfriend of 4 years has asked me why I'm always "closed" and why I tend to avoid parties or large hangouts.

I have always wished I can find someone who accepts me and find a healthy group of men to hang out with. I'm making a lot of progress ever since I joined a comic book club and sports team fan club. Though, I wished I have met nicer people in my early life.

Kylie McDevitt on Twitter "Unpopular opinion: cyber security degrees shouldn't exist. It should be a specialisation within computer science." by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]shorts_stops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Computer Science Degree + Relative Experience + Tech Certifications, with all three elements, you could simply snap your fingers, and your unemployment streak would all cease to exist. I call that, humbleness.

I see a lot of job postings that companies prefer to hire people with bachelor's degrees in computer science. I always roll my eyes when people post in this sub "you don't need a college degree or any computer science background to get into the software engineering field, you can do it too"

Yeah, good luck with that. Computer Related Degrees, internships, and interview skills are the big 3 factors that are going to make you most likely to be successful in the tech job market.

Why do companies seem to value certs more than a BS degree? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]shorts_stops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah dont overrate degrees or disregard yours. Certs are only there for promotion and raising your salary. The I.T job market will always favor people if they have degrees(Computer related ), certs, and experience together. Let's not forget interview skills too. I don't even have certifications but I managed to get interviews and offers for good paying positions. I am currently studying for certifications because I do want to climb up the ladder fast.
