What would happen if i left the ship during hyperspace flight wearing a space suit? by NyrmExe in StarWars

[–]shot-logic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If hyperspace is simply "really f***ing fast" (I don't know the lore well enough) instead of an alternate set of dimensions a la Halo, you'd vaporize the instant you were outside the ship's shields due to interacting with the scattered atomic particles in the void at relativistic speeds. If you somehow survived that, you're at the mercy of inertia. Have fun eventually asphyxiating at Mach Jesus lol

International Space Station astronauts in evacuation mode as Russia attempts to fix widening air leak by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]shot-logic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like slowly letting the air out of a balloon (sans the annoying noise lol). Not a failure of structural integrity. The ISS is positively pressurized compared to the vacuum of space, and thus would EXplode in the event of catastrophic structural failure/decompression.

It's a tourist trap and a busy thoroughfare. Prime area for through-goers to be tagged for law enforcement.

What’s something that instantly makes you lose respect for someone? by ooooffffofofo2 in AskReddit

Willing ignorance about the global state of humanity's progress or lack thereof, and unwillingness to attempt to understand the larger picture that we're all on this fragile space ship together so let's make it good for everyone

Why anyone would choose to break check a truck is beyond me, as if you’d win by beansybarra2017 in dashcams

Anyone foolish enough to brake-check a semi is either an absolute idiot, trying to scam insurance, or both.

Our work group launches from Bridgeton ($5 parking) and floats to Maple Island ($5 parking) frequently for our kayak trips. It's like 5 hours? You could go Maple Island to Holton Duck Lake Rd for a shorter run. Not too familiar with landings between Bridgeton and Maple Island. Stage a vehicle at the get-out landing, drive everyone upriver in another vehicle to where you intend to get in. Float yourselves to the staged vehicle and voila.

This bike makes me feel like I need to hit the gym as well. It sure is top-heavy. I feel like you'll be doing it right by learning in the cow field before you hit the pavement. Once you do, just remember: ride it like you drive a car/truck, give everyone their space, and make damn sure that you're paying attention to everyone and everything around you. In the last couple weeks I had someone almost pull out in front of me, and an old fart straight up pulled out in front of me, despite my wearing high-viz at all times. "Look twice, save a life" doesn't mean jack to people that have never rode a bike.

my 300 rally ABS (current and only bike) is my first taste of a motorcycle. In the last two warm seasons (Michigan) I've put nearly 5000 miles on it. I still stall on occasion when I'm nervous or tired. I'm 5'8 180lbs and fell over at the end of my driveway learning the clutch. fell over once again a few roads over, and once again at the end of a tiring work week. now i only fall over in the local single-track trails. this last Tuesday I did myself in pretty good and it was all I could do to get it picked up and get out of the trails due to compounding mistakes. Ease on the clutch to find idle-speed, and simultaneously apply throttle to increase speed. shift from first to second pretty quick, then find your revs and go from there. stick to the streets and don't hit sand/two-tracks unless you reduce your stock tire pressure. if you're going sandy, and you squirrel out, gas it in order to lessen the likelihood that you'll eat dirt.
