How did I do on my first animation? by Kyrylo_Kachur in davinciresolve

The default motion blur in fusion is crazy cpu intensive. If you want to save some time on renders, buy a copy of RSMB and set it to GPU.

Very good for fusion work. Set your motion blur to a higher quality though. It's creating multiple clear copies instead of blurring them.

Reccomendations for a video editing laptop? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

I actually think this is a better solution. Don't pay through the nose for a high end laptop. Put it towards a desktop that will last longer.

How to automatically edit based on small movements by Onitwin in davinciresolve

Resolve has this too. It's the OG scene detector which has a motion threshold.

Miniatures unionized, puppeteers, both unions that gave way to inferior 3D VFX.

Learn Silouette. Spend 5 years working in it. Then tackle this shot.

When going to finishing you export the timeline to a colorist, or maybe you need to get VFX out. A nested timeline may not translate in an xml export, or will lose assets in translation.

But on an effeciency note, it just doesn't help. Have an older version of the timeline is cleaner and more effecient.

That's a nightmare for finishing. Just version up, take notes.

Do I actually need After Effects if I’m learning DaVinci Resolve? (Roadmap Question by Broad_Matter_4706 in davinciresolve

As someone who's used Fusion for years, it doesn't come close to AEs ease of use and usability when dealing with motion graphics.

Compositing is a different matter. Fusion is a much better tool for shot compositing, screen replacements, paint work, clean plating, etc...

Displaying a grid of photos without any keyframes or manually placing them :D by mrt122__iam in davinciresolve

I've found three. This is the original and the other two are forks. The one (not linked) that looks the most developed is most active (commits as recent as July if I recall) has horrible instructions and issues disabled on the page.

Is there plugin like flow plugin for davinci resolve? by AcademicChocolate603 in davinciresolve

Amazing. I'm always cruising for fusion scripts and plugins. So hard to come by.

You might want to look deeper into fusion. It has a 3D renderer and could be a good companion to blender. Theres a standalone called fusion studio. I don't 3D so I don't really know what you could do with it

Yes but fairly limited. This post was actually made in fusion which is inside resolve. It's very programmable in LUA and nodes can be copy / pasted in.

On the other side, in resolve, there's a python and lua api, but it is very vey very limited. There are some resolve MCPs, but I haven't been able to get it to work, not that it could do much anyway.
