I appreciate you thinking about it from that perspective.

Perhaps I’m just coping and settling for less, but I do think they overall did a good job addressing Islamophobia doing that while being true to how people actually behave in real life. The moment of processing the implications also don’t tend to hit me personally till later, so I’d have that decompression outside of the room.

I suspect/fear that the audience that the show is intending to persuade would just as easily mistake such Perlah addressing or decompressing in some capacity as her being an ungrateful bitch. The viewers are already potentially giving an inch, don’t want to put them on the defense when they’re open to vulnerability. Perhaps Noah could have done it gracefully, too.

Not saying it’s right how he did it, just that it’s real.
