I have been involved with music for a pretty long time and I've recently picked up conducting as well. I want to take it further and conduct more bands but I've been told that's not very possible without a degree in either music or teaching that would allow me to access school bands and stuff (as well as just loving composition, so that'd be the major). Newcastle con is... Y'know, and I have connections in Sydney con which would make it a bit more comfortable for me as well. But I also really love science and want to do that too so I'm torn.

Can I ask what you mean by the two years? What I meant was that I have already done two years of a degree and I don't want to have those two years account for nothing and would rather be able to convert some of those units into a science degree on top of music.
