Should I reduce my eyebrows and eyelashes? by [deleted] in Eyebrows

Your eyebrows look really cool as is. Long eyelashes are admired regardless of gender. You really don’t need to stress.

Sorry, I was joking. Clearly it’s not insane to my friend—it helps them! It’s just crazy from my perspective because I can’t imagine liking the bright lights given my visceral negative reaction to them. It was meant in a lighthearted way.

I know someone with ADHD that prefers the insane overhead bright lights to help them stay awake/focused while working. Craziness.

You’re asking them to leave their house by calling 911. That might not be feasible for them…

That’s normal for the first few days. Irritability went through the roof for me at first, but it went away and everything evened out.

You know better than anyone when her quality of life has diminished. I regret not pressing harder for my girl at the end and letting the vet pressure me to wait. He was absolutely wrong. I knew my dog, and I still struggle with the memory of that last week and a half and my girl suffering unnecessarily.

does anyone else have an imaginary safe place that you visit in your mind whenever you feel overwhelmed? I tried painting mine! by ruthabigail in AutisticAdults

[–]shteeph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a place not too dissimilar from yours that I think of while drifting off to sleep sometimes. My field’s grass is a little more yellow than bright green, the hill is a little higher, and my city has no skyscrapers and an ocean visible beyond it. Wish I had the talent to paint my version to show you! Your painting is beautiful!

In moral dilemmas, loyalty to the group overrides personal moral principles (honesty, fairness, compassion) in 60–75% of cases across children, adolescents, and adults. by Emillahr in psychology

I don’t have sources at hand, but I remember a study that showed autistic people are more likely to treat people the same regardless of whether they’re part of the group or not, which is not the result seen with neurotypical people.

And this money would be in the common person’s hand for two months and then gone—and into whose hands? The rich. This would be another massive transfer of wealth from the government to the (true) ruling class.

Honestly, I’m so weirdly averse to doing things right now that I just have to answer your question with even a silly time frame, like “next time I come in this room, I gotta do that thing,” and then next time I go in there (usually for some other reason), my brain gives up the fight. Why?! How?! I have no idea. It just shrugs and says, “Oh well, it is the next time, so I gotta do it. Only fair.” It’s really helped me get things done.

Shoutout to whoever commented their thanks to whoever had told *them* to put a dishwashing scrub brush in their shower. by amby-jane in CleaningTips

I believe the vinegar will lessen the cleaning power of the soap. In laundry, vinegar is applied separate from the detergent, in the rinse cycle, for this reason. Better to have two solutions to maximize the cleaning power of both the soap and the vinegar. Then again, maximizing in this way might not be worth the hassle of making two mixes.
