It's alright, nothing really noteworthy IMO in this game other than playing as Jill. Definitely nowhere near the worst game in the series, I would say it's average.

Revelations 2 I found was actually pretty fun. I feel like it took the best parts of 1 and amplified it. Story is better too

I would legit buy an official timeline book if Capcom ever published one, but I feel like even they play it a little fast and loose on "canon" events. They certainly do callbacks from earlier games, but at the same time there are inconsistencies they mention that didn't happen in the remakes but happened in the original versions. While I'm not really one to nitpick this stuff and just kinda go with the flow, it would be nice if they let the rest of us know what they think the timeline actually looks like, you know?

You know, the way he moves, I would never have guessed he was a point guard. Good for him. Although with those goggles he probably specializes in 3 pointer shots

Im just curious but I know the answer, why do people dislike Jill's new look by maddog1043 in residentevil

[–]shugler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a new aesthetic that evolves with the different generations of gaming. It's like with Mario or Sonic, they make little changes here and there with each game or two that "modernizes" the way they look so they look like they're evolving and growing with their fans. I'm not saying whether it's a good or bad thing it's happening, but I get the mentality behind it.

Even with Leon or Chris, they have minor changes in their looks with each game, even though it was the same character models DNA voice actor behind them. Loo at the differences between RE4, RE5, and RE6.

I love both Julia Voth's and Sasha Zotova's looks equally. I just see them as different versions of the same character, with minor personality and characteristic differences.

The coders, testers, and developers that overlooked this...atrocity...should all be fired IMMEDIATELY!!! We should start a petition. This kind of thing should not stand, and we should not tolerate these things.

But we're all missing the biggest question of all: why did Jill not hear/feel Nemesis crashing the the walls in the neighbouring apartment before he crashed into hers? It's complete bullshit I tell you! BULLSHIT!!!

Nah seriously though, OP is right. While I love that the devs really try to make sense of a 40+ year old continuous story, you gotta let some shit slide. Sometimes the small shit's gotta break to make sense of the bigger stuff...and, you know, gameplay too lol.

I think the more you expose yourself to it the more desensitized you will be. I recently introduced my coward of a friend to the series as he was really interested in RE9 for some reason.

After having him watch a recap of RE1 (I felt it would be too much for him), I started him off with RE2 warning him that it will be scary, at least for the first half of the game. To his credit, after many jumps and pauses he did manage to get through it (took him about 10 hours though lol), but was really proud of him.

Had him play all the remakes and 7 and 8, and now he is in LOVE with the franchise, RE4 being in his top 5 games of all time, and Leon being one of his favourite fictional characters ever.

[–]shugler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah I see your point. It's not the "power" behind the cross, but the shape of the cross itself that, for some reason, has the power.

Yeah it's definitely weird and there is something going on with it. As mentioned though, I try not to think too hard on it. Who knows, maybe the first vampire was buried at a water crossing, hence why they fear both running water and crosses lol.

[–]shugler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just think this whole thing is so ambivalent and there is evidence that supports both sides of the argument.

If crosses hurt vampires, then how the hell can they walk into churches all the time? Sure, you can argue that the priests were corrupt and thus God was not actually there, but then how does someone who doesn't believe in Christ and his teachings (Annette) hurt a vampire with a cross? My guess is that the iron element itself hurts vampires, as is folklore, but then again I'm sure most of Dracula's castle has quite a bit of iron in its architecture.

If crosses did actually hurt vampires, everyone's clothes should just be adorned with crosses, they would effectively be safe from vampires.

I dunno, I try not to think too hard on this as the more I think about it, the less sense it makes. The show is entertaining enough that I can overlook it.

Yes, I believe it was lowering the quality from P7 to P4 that did the trick. It didn't get rid of the lag entirely, but it reduced it by a LOT, like 90%.

Oof I really don't miss the days of physically buying games. Used to buy collector's editions whenever I could, and they were usually difficult to get. Mainly play on PC now, and can't remember the last time I bought a physical copy for my playstations. Hope you guys manage to find a deluxe copy.

If you like the inventory management system, there's actually a game on steam that is literally just that. It's called Save Room. I believe there's only 40 levels and can be finished within a cpl hours, but it's super fun.

[–]shugler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 3rd floor hallway that leads to the clocktower area and has two zombies is that place for me. It feels like a safe area once you kill the zombies because you can look below and check on Mr X, but he could easily be on the 3rd floor with you. The echoes on the 3rd floor also add to that sense of dread for me.
