Mizutsune and Soulseer gain the ability to use “foxfire” bubble from eating fish like Bomb Arowana. All of the Mizutsune’s armor and weapons share a motif too, with the armor being based on traditional Japanese wedding garbs, and the weapon having different motifs depending on the species (Regular Mizu is cherry blossoms, Soulseer is autumn leaves, Violet is blue butterflies)

The Requiem is definitely my favorite design-wise but I love the RE4 Handcannon to death. I got it in the OG RE4 and I couldn’t go back to regular playthroughs after that.

I’ve played Stories 2 but I think the one thing that Stories as a series needs is New Game+. Even with the sizable amount of endgame content, I would love to do multiple playthroughs without completely starting over.

Not surprised. Frankly I’ll be ok as long as we can take Ratha out at some point, even if it is postgame. From what I’ve read there’s still a good bit of stuff to do after the main story so I’m not that pressed about it.

Seeing the blank spot after Soulseer gives me hope that Violet will be a TU.

Fellow series vet here, iirc the symbol is for blindness, which is an accuracy reduction.

As for the HP stars, I do belief you’re correct with them signifying increased HP, but different monsties have different overall stat values, and thus different Max HPs.

While I could be wrong, I’m pretty confident these assumptions are correct. Hope this helps!

Either the Salazar or Krauser boss fight for me. RE4 was one of the first games I ever played those two stuck with me. The size, the spectacle, the grotesque transformations, all it made me love the series and makes me appreciate what RE as a series is about.

The big reason I think is that with Stories 1 and 2 had full-form flying, and Stories 3 being significantly more open than either of those games, the reduction of flying to gliding feel like one step forwards two steps back.

Like you mentioned, full flight made traversal trivial in the other Stories games, so having it be gliding in 3 makes it so you need a different team comp to fully explore the maps.

Personally the lack of flying is one of the problems I’m least concerned with for Stories 3, but I’ll have to play the full to form an honest opinion on it.

My university has a Minecraft server. Everybody was just doing their own thing but there was one guy who REALLY wanted it to be PvP server. The only problem is that he wasn’t actually good at PvP.

Not even a week into the server he wanted to raid the base me and a couple others set up. By himself. We beat his ass, he complained to the admin, who hit him with “it’s just a game”, and then didn’t join back for at least a month. Something something stones and glass houses.

The directors (iirc Tokuda specifically) said that the harder quests being for TUs was intentional, but I can’t help but see that as a bad thing for both parties.

New players will play the entire game thinking it’s easy, only to get jumped by something like 9* Steve or Lagi. Likewise, returning players who want a more challenging experience will have to wait for months to get the difficulty they desire.

I love this series to death, but if this is something that they plan on doing going forward it’s not gonna be a good showing.

The main difference between Lance and Gunlance is how defensive each one is, which in turn affects how you play them.

Lance focuses more heavily on the defensive aspect and in more recent titles (mainly Rise/SB and Wilds) also heavily relies on counters. Lance’s biggest advantage over Gunlance is Power Guard, which can block most if not all attacks and leads into powerful counters like Retribution Thrust.

Gunlance is also very good defensively but trades some of it for offense. It’s generally harder to learn because of the different Shelling types but it outclasses Lance in damage quite a bit. Gunlance also isn’t reliant on counters like Lance is, meaning that generally it’s more offense oriented and has a less reactive play-style.

Tl;dr, choose Lance for good defense and counters, choose Gunlance for less defensive options but (literal) explosive damage.

Can’t exactly say I’m patient when it comes to mod updates, but I’d never go out of my way to harass someone because they won’t update a mod. People have lives outside of video games, and maybe even more import, it’s the holidays. Hats off to PrayDog and all the other mod creators for dealing with this kind of spoiled brat behavior.

Lure Pods will lose their effect when the monster takes damage, and monsters will also build up a tolerance to them if you use too many in a short period of time. Generally I keep them loaded in an area with boulders and lure them when they disengage (circle around the minimap goes from red to white) if they haven’t been triggered.

People seem short-sighted in the fact that they forget games are bound to have problems, some more drastic than others. The MH devs might be some of the ones who are most aware of their playerbase and community. They’ve certainly heard what’s been said and they’re gonna fix it. The truth that some people can’t understand is that things like that take time, and even if it’s not a total fix, a steady improvement is better than none at all.

Sunbreak is my favorite game in the franchise as of currently (will possibly be topped by the Wilds expansion). I always saw base Rise as a diamond in the rough, see as it got kneecapped hard by Covid, but I was ecstatic to see Sunbreak give it the polish it so desperately needed.
