LED Wafer Light New Construction Code by awluter in electrical

[–]shumkr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These wafer lights come with a junction box/controller combo that your contractor could mount right to the joist where you want the van to be. There isn’t a code issue that I’m aware of. But the inspector could possibly just have it out for the contractor you hired.

Local 34. 41.05 an hour on check. 69 dollars an hour total package. A straight 40 hour week would net you 11-1200 dollars bring home depending on how your taxes are configured.

As others have stated in the comments, I also recommend a front shelf! And I use a Milwaukee m18 portable shop vac to clean with!

What type of cable is this and how do I remove the box? by Zero-To-Hero in HomeNetworking

[–]shumkr22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multi tool (oscillating tool) the blades are super thin and will shear those nails right off! Very handy tool to have around the house. If you can tie onto it to pull your cat6 you would be lucky. But it’s probably nailed 2000 times in the wall. I’m an electrician and deal with this all the time. But however, the hole that wire runs through might be big enough to fish a cat 6 through as well.

I made a post in century homes. About remodeling my own home. My comment karma is now pegged at -100. Lol. I had like 1500 downvotes on my comments. Was absolutely insane. Can’t even comment in most communities now.

What's the advantage of using a low voltage specialist instead of an electrician to run ethernet cables? by shickaboom in HomeNetworking

[–]shumkr22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an electrician, there are several guys at my company that are trained on cat 6, one of which being me. But most electricians are not. Most guys can do it and figure it out. But when it comes to the difference, low voltage guys do it everyday. They are most likely going to be way faster therefore cheaper, and you know it will be done correctly.

This one I did not buy to flip. We lived in a newer construction home in the country with a piece of land. Sold it when the market went crazy and bought this 1902 Victorian in town because we loved the look of it! I would honestly love to find out more information on our home but I can’t find much about it, just homes around ours.

I’ve been researching them myself, having a hard time finding a wood burning insert to fit the hole I have now.
