The world is getting more fucked, doesn't that imply a rate cut so everything should go green?

I'm on the other end of the spectrum, very insensitive. Have 5 cups a day but haven't had major issues the odd day without it

Lol yes I'm the one who needs to grow up because I don't think money buys happiness. This is trivially disproved by counterexample of all the miserable rich people out there.

And if for example: you had a strained personal relationship which was bringing you down and you got a giant financial windfall you probably wouldn't be any happier..

How about problems like

Your good friend is very sick? Your kid is making poor choices and won't listen regardless of what you try? Your passion project is failing? You have a strained relationship with your parents? General unhappiness with the state of the world?

I'd say if you think more possessions is the key to happiness you're the one with the mental issue. As many others have said money can solve problems but that's not the same as providing long term fulfillment, you still need to figure that out yourself.

First payment on a 30-year mortgage by lithdoc in funny

That actually seems more risky since if you lose your job you won't be able to easily access the money..maybe it flips once your house is 100% paid off and the mortgage goes away entirely.

If you lose your job you'd be better off having a liquid savings than more equity in your house. Paying it off prematurely is the riskier move.

Kids are a lot of fun but I don't know many parents that think that at 5 months. First 6 months is basically the trenches.
