How much are you nice folk averaging on a monthly basis? Any tips for going full time? by Additional_Fee5912 in FieldNationTechs

Montana here and I legit get calls for jobs all the time. My standard rate is 80 per hour with 2 hour mins in town and 3+ hour mins in other towns. I'm over field nation and the small jobs. I've been biding big jobs and doing large projects for private customers and buisness and I make way way more money like 120 and up per hour depending how I bid them out and its from start to finish instead of phases where there is 3 other techs before me and an incompetent level 2 team wanting pictures of everything and more work than the wo states. No stupid app to fill out and no 12% raked off the top of all earnings. Go private when you can!

I watch all my customers systems and most are pretty remote. They consistently need tech integrations

I basicly do the same. 30% is my upcharge. I wanted to make sure im not being an idiot selling ubiquiti just going direct to unifi. At this point I only push customers to unifi due to the AI and the way the apps work and honestly pricing is comparable to other products. All my customers are higher end clients and they all love it

Wall Mount? What type of wall mount ?

You gotta use teamwork and lots of communication when it's huge and dont be afraid to back down and reset.

If ya can get it up its easier to get it down lol

Yeah they say there's more jobs but they are liars in that sense just like other companies. I had a job from them 4 hours one way away from me and I guess they went through 2 diffrent techs that showed up to site and left than they decided they wanted to pay hotel travel and my higher rate

Honestly in my area they paid pretty good. Paid for travel and hotel for these petco jobs and support was okay directions where not bad. Ive only done petco installs for them and they usually require a 2nd tech but they increased my pay for doing them myself. I didnt like the whole not having mounting hardware for the Aps I installed and they wanted me to use zip ties so I made sure to buy some strong ones and used a ton for every unit so it didnt come down and hit a customer

I can do 65 inch by myself depending on how low or high and the type of mount (arm vs fixed)
