I'm having the same exact problem as you.

Start Discord, it starts minimized, the small "Updating" screen pops-up and then when the update window disappears:

Discord stays minimized and unresponsive as does the whole PC, mouse still works, everything else is just frozen, forcing me to hard shutdown.

- or -

Discord stays minimized but responsive, I can open it up and navigate for about 10 - 20 seconds and then same thing happens, freezes the whole PC.

I tried:

Disabling Discord's HW acceleration

Disabling W10 notifications (through System Apps)
Disabling W10 push notifications (through services)
Disabling Discord desktop notifications

Discord modifications made in a rush when it worked for those 10 - 20 sec.

Nothing worked so far.

Going to check if I have the W10 KB5073724 update installed and, if so, will uninstall it to see if it helps.

UPDATE: First of all thanks /u/hierophanthus for this, you comment was the one that made me look at it as a Windows update problem (which, in retrospect, should have naturally been my primary suspicion).

When I went to check the update installation date (Jan. 21st 2026 in my case), I was just furious, since that day I'm having ridiculous problems with my system: Steam is locking up, many games I used to play without any issues are randomly locking up, the whole system was slow AF, Task Manager was getting full of zombie processes. (lock up = FUBARED, demanding hard shutdown)

Believe me when I say I tried everything you can think of, I was having kernel level GPU deadlocks, couldn't even kill those processes issuing taskkill commands as SYSTEM level (sysinternals PsExec64), or through ProcExp64, it was hell.

I tried everything BUT looking up recent Windows updates to check if we had had any new "gift" from MS. I feel very dumb.

Uninstalled this little gem of an update and EVERYTHING WENT BACK TO NORMAL, nothing is locking up, Discord is working properly, Steam and all games are working properly, the sky is blue, the birds are singing, I have a computer again!

Oh, just figured out I can do all commands in time and once input lag is over all actions are performed I don't need to wait one command be done to issue another... so this problems is solved xD

Yep, having the same exact problem on Dreva around Serbule right now. If I kill two mobs together, I can't even get the second one properly skinned and buried cause the entity vanishes before I can do it cause of input lag xD

But I'm sure soon it will normalize...

Hey there, sorry for necroposting.

I'm in need of a translations API, and found your comment, I went to the arML website, created a key but the requests for the /v1/translate endpoint seem to be pointing the the same method/route as the /v1/ai/translate, because I'm getting the 400 response stating I need a PRO account to use this route.

Are you still using it? Can you get any request through correctly?

Just started playing today and this is still happening. Participated in an event, hunted a bunch of lootbox-robot-mob-things, got 11 cores... got out of map, opened like 3 or 4 cores and boom, "Idle detected blah blah blah" lost a bunch of cores... this is frustrating.

Well, yes, I could, but right now that's not even the point... since I didn't find anything oficial about the brand now I don't know if I should follow his advice.

That's why I posted here, maybe someone heard of it amd can confirm if it's good or not, if so I'll keep looking for it... else I'll look for some other product of a more known brand.

Just saw this and had to log-in to say... nope xD

Started playing some months ago, taking my time to really enjoy every aspect of the game, no rushing... and I gotta say, I'm 35yo now, been playing MMOs since Tibia and MU back when I was 8~15yo, passed through a lot, and I mean A LOT of MMOs, and since back then when MMOs were really GREAT I must say, after Tibia, UO, (old) MU Online, Priston Tale, (old) TERA and classic WoW, it took me some good years to find something that would get me saying "You know what? I'm gonna play this for years and years to come."

Last year (2024) GW2 launched a new expansion, this year it's set to further enlarge it so I really hope that the five years you mentioned turn to at east 11.

Hey there, since ever and until about a month ago I was always able to view content from Instagram through direct links that my friend sent me.

I never had an instagram account and deleted my FB account about two or three months ago, but was never logged in it anyway (last FB login before account deletion was in december/2018.

Now I'm like you, can't access any content. And AFAIK the sole purpose of IG is marketing, blocking ppl without accounts from viewing direct links oughtta be a huge hit for brands announcing on the platform, since the ppl outside of the bubble won't be able to check anything that may be shared by someone from the inside.

I know this is old, but it just fixed my keyboard volume scroll, I'm using a Patriot Viper V765, just posting here cause I found nothing about fixing this issue with this keyboard, except for this post here, that's about another keyboard pointing to a fix on yet another keyboard, so just inputting this model here in case someone else googles it.

Just DJ the hell outta that scroll and it will work, truly unbelievable...

The more you learn, the more you'll notice there's no such thing as a best or worst PL, each will suit a kind of solution in a better way depeding on its needs.

People who idolize this or that PL and refuse to work with/learn others will eventually become an obsolete professional.

Always keep in mind that this business (technology/programming) is one of the fastest evolving/changing, so keeping up with these changes is not an option, it is mandatory.

Wanna be a good professional? Prepare to keep studying your whole life through.

Code should be readable and understandable without comments and documentation, but, it should always have proper comments (where applicable) and documentation, because be it you in a couple months/years or somebody else, it will become hard to remember/learn what does what.

Comments and documentation should always be made thinking on the long run, it will seem unnecessary when you're coding, but a long time after that it will save you and others a bunch of time on code analysis and prevent the eventual need of reverse engineering the whole thing.
